Sounds like some of you guy know the lake well . Have you ever encountered any muskies. 20 years ago rumor had it there were muskies mostly in the east end. I fished it once and decided I had better options closer to home although I live less than an hour away..

The rain in the past 3 days has caused our lake to rise 6 inches it wont do much to raise LO when it comes your way but there are thousands of lakes sending water your way.

I'm not talking the north shore I'm talking the entire Great Lakes Water Shed how many million sq miles would you think that is.Under normal conditions the Niagara river dumps a million cubic feet af water per SECOND into Lake Ontario and these are not normal conditions. Our little local lake 1000 acres with a river flowing in and out eventually dumping into the Bay of Quinte where lower Belleville is flooded out. rose 4 inches since Sundays rain it's now raining again. The lake rose to normal spring levels started to recede nicely then rose 5 feet during a week of rain flooding the park and many homes. During the first 5 days of may it rained more than the monthly average.. March and April rainfall was more than double the average. I'm seeing 3 days of rain in the next week forecast.. You do realize That the Great lakes watershed consists of more than the south shore of Lake Ontario and it all has to go out through the Saunders Dam . Inland lakes and rivers are also at record levels . Water was flowing over the top of the locks on the Trent Severn System. People Who insist on building on the flood plain or filling wetlands to build are going to get flooded in abnormally wet springs.All dams are the result of man trying to control Mother Nature sometimes she wins.

Not going anywhere can't see fishing for something that can't pull out of a downrigger clip or you have to see a board drop back to know if you have a hit. I'll do yard work that weekend and fish trout through the week until muskie opens.

What would be your increased long distance release percentage when barbless. For years I fished barbless for muskies and don't think i lost many or any because of it. As I did a lot of night fishing alone it was done for me rather than the fish but it does make an easier release. Don't really know why I got away from it will have to think of going back.

I use Church Walleye boards with Offshore locking clips fishing for muskies they will pull 10 inch baits but when fishing alone I would go with big boards on a mast so I didn't have to stop fighting the fish to remove the board.

Years ago before I ever thought about salmon I watched a video where the guy dipped his baits in oily bilge water and caught fish. I know a guy who rinses his lures in dish detergent.

One afternoon while having a beer on his boat i spotted a small bottle and asked what it was he said fish attractant. There are modifications suggested by Blood Run however the boards are manufactured by Church Tackle. Church have changed the forward clip to a locking clip sometime towards the end of last season . On mine I made stainless pins for the back and cut the foam to allow me to stack the two weights one above the other at the front of the boards. I pull hard pulling muskie lures that dive like loons at 5 mph.

So your running the long leaders right off the ball?

pinch pad releases So I'm seeing a lot of pinch pad releases with long leaders up to 5 feet. What is the idea here and how do you reach it for resetting? I see about half or more come with a metal clip for attaching to rigger cable. Do you feel this clip would damage rigger cable?

One thing I did was move both weights to the front that keeps the bevel in the water to make it skate. Just modify one board till you get it to do what you want before making changes to the other boards. you probably haven't done anything that can't be undone. the new boards are now coming with a locking clip. I run Church boards with offshore locking clips

I guess i listened to two dealers that said they were basicly the same motor. The 6 year warranty and the fuel injection is what sold me. I have two boats with Suzuki 4 strokes and just sold another a year ago. My only issue is I launch and start the motor and when walking back from parking the truck i always think the motor quit because I can't hear it.
