  1. I headed out for the last hour and a half for a solo trip last night. I worked the west side to the middle of the lake to the condo's and back to the south end. I wasn't marking much until the return trip. Just south of the condo's in 200 FOW I began steadily marking fish from 25 - 55 down. I was able to go 2/2 with a 5# bow taking a Alwife NK Mag down 40' and back 30'. 20 minutes later my wire rod was bouncing and before I grabbed it the fish was putting on quite a display behind the boat!! A few jumps later he was in the boat - another 5- 6 # bow. The wire rod was out 155' with a chrome/green frog SD and mirage fly. Not a bad evening.
  2. Persistence pays ever time - see, even on a tough day you went 4/4 - nice job!!
  3. Great job folks!! Excellent report as always...
  4. I'm looking forward to a sweet ride this weekend!!!!!
  5. Hey kurt - it's good to get blood on the deck!! Somehow I missed the lady swimming across the lake - maybe that was the short strike I thought I had
  6. We set up on the west side and trolled north with good marks all the way to the Vine Valley area. We started with a green / chrome SD - mirage fly, spoons on the riggers and 250' of copper out the back (SD / fly) The 1st hit was a 8# 27" laker on the SD / fly combo on a dipsy out 140'. The 2nd hit (if you call it that) was a shaker bow who inhaled a NK Mag that was as big as he was. About an hour later we picked up a 7# 25"bow on the port rigger 60' back and 40 down pulling a yellow / chrome NK. Not a bad day but I was expecting more with the overcast conditions.
  7. My wife and I are taking a short trip to Ithaca this weekend and are looking for a 4 - 5 hour Charter Saturday morning. We are interested in trolling for lakers / LL Salmon. I'm not familiar with this lake so I'll be looking for help as to where we would meet. (south end) Please send me a PM if you have seats available or any of you can refer me to a good captain - thanks....
  8. Excellent job gentlemen - my neighbor was a Sally and bagged on me at 11:30 Saturday night and I didnt dare to try it alone with the wind. The fish gods were smiling on the only people crazy enough to hit the lake with 40 mph winds. I imagine the north end was worse. The lake didnt look so bad compared to the 4' - 6' rollers on the big lake Sunday morning that I observed from work.
  9. Very nice!! Keep those Canandaigua reports coming....
  10. It sounds like a good ending to a crazy morning - sometimes good things actually happen to good people!! Glad you didnt lose you rigger!!
  11. My Daughter and I set up south at the drop off and trolled in northeast - northwest pattern then reversed it from 6:30 - 8:30. We were running spoons on the riggers and FF combos on the wire rods. After 45 minutes or so I pulled the FF combos in and changed to dipsy / Alewife NK Mag spoons. BAM! We went 2 for 2 in the last 45 minutes and she had a blast. It was her 2nd time out this year and is becoming pretty proficient with the rod and net.
  12. Great report Mike - it has been tough for the past week or so with the moon phase or something!! Congratulations on the "big one"
  13. Excellent report - great job guy's - your numbers are quite impressive for Canandaigua!!
  14. We did see bait but the bite was slow North of the condo's so we pulled the lines in and headed back to the south end. The lack of wind and flat conditions are always tough.
  15. Another very good day on Canandaigua - we set up south with 1 rigger (SD / fly) (2) wires (SD/Fly), 300' copper and I broke out the brand new Seth Green rig loaded with Suttons. Didn't do squat by the way!! The 1st taker was a 4# laker on a green / black / chrome SD / Green Hammer fly followed by a very nice bow who hit a white dalmation SD / white fly out 210'. We picked up a 3rd bow on a retrieval of the same white set up getting ready to move. We did have (3) hard short strikes which is not typical especially if they were from the bows which are typically hit the lures violently.
  16. excellent report - keep um coming!!
  17. I have the adjustable Tite - Lok holders and they are inexpensive, rock solid and easily removable if you use your boat for the family too....
  18. Surprisingly the lake was a ghost town at 6 AM with the overcast conditions and a threat of wind / showers. We started at the south drop off right down the center of the lake and worked towards the east side. We set out 2 wires, 2 riggers and copper all with spinny's / flies. The 1st rod fired with a very nice bow (who put on quite a show) before we landed her. She hit on a chrome / frog spinny / mirage fly. The copper was next which was running a blue e chip flasher / green fly. The last taker of the day was a 4 # laker on white spinney / mirage fly.
  19. You gotta' love "Blow boaters"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. We set up at the drop off on the west side with (2) wire rods loaded with SD / flies, (2) riggers - (1) with a green SD / green fly and the other running a Cleo down 30' / out 70' and 300' copper down the chute. The Cleo fired 1st and often with a 3# bow. It didnt seem to matter if the green or blue / silver Cleo was out it kept firing with 4 / 4 bows off of that rigger. We picked up lakers on both wires with green / mirage and white / mirage (thanks Mike!!) Finally - the green SD / green fly on the opposite rigger fired with a 5# bow. We had a great day going 7/8. The east side was full of weed mats and the fleas are getting bad everywhere!
  21. Excellent report - keep the Canandaigua reports coming!!
  22. Nice report - that Revelator has been hot for years huh Mike!! Good job guys!!
  23. I was able to get out Monday evening on the south end of Canandaigua. We set up past the drop off and trolled toward the white rock on the east side. Marked good concentrations of bows down 20' - 30' from the rock to just south of the valley. The lakers were scattered but 55' was a good average depth. We had sticks on the riggers from 20' to 35' - copper out at 260' and wire/spin doc out at 225'. We picked up 2 small bows on fire tiger sticks, returning them safely to grow up some. The long lines were quiet until right at dark when the wire was hit hard - short fight before he shook it off - that sucked! Overall fun evening...
