  1. Nice job!! The lake was beautiful yesterday morning but it was a tough bite. The radio chatter told the story... We were lucky enough to pick up a couple 2 year old kings and dropped another 2 (can't blame the lake conditions for those 2
  2. A similar story from 2 weekends ago. My Dad and Father in Law were up for my sons graduation party and I was able to get them out of Sodus the Saturday morning of thos horrible 4' - 5' rollers. They were both able to land 8# & 11# steelhead and missed a few hard hook ups (not quite ready for the 10' rod and divers yet) My Father in Law is quite proficient with 25# stripers in the Chesapeake and said these fresh water fish foght like nothing he is used to!! Like you said - priceless!!
  3. Last Sunday was painful in my 30' which is designed for offshore fishing- you are a beast if you were able handle that 3' / 4' chop for any time!! Tomorrow will be a nice day...
  4. Ensure you add a stainless plate under your gunwale as Mortigan stated. I have singles and they are very solid.
  5. I 2nd Sodus Point Marina- great bunch of folks and the pool is open.
  6. The Plazma is as close as I believe you can get.
  7. I agree - soon he will be measuring the exact distance to place the eye on his spoons with a micrometer - nice job guys....
  8. 2.625 MPH at the ball is a challange for even the finest Canandaigua bow - may I recommed reducing your speed to 2.557 MPH (average of course) WTG Mike.....
  9. When replacing hooks on standard or Mag spoons - what size single hook is best for Kings, Steelies or Browns in Lake O?
  10. Excellent responses and resources!!
  11. I'm looking for some help gauging Lake 'O conditions. I'm familiar with th e Finger Lakes however we are moving to Sodus this year. What is the best tool or media outlet to determine lake conditions? What are the "rule of thumbs" for the wind vs. wave size?
  12. I'm reading it the other way?? Table "B" is specific to the Finger Lakes and Table "C" is specific to the tribs. If I'm reading it correctly - maybe not - only the tribs are affected by the rule change...
  13. (1) Easi Troll 22" copolymer boom - 200' cable - good condition $80.00 (1) Lake Troll 18" copolymer boom - 150' cable (new last season) - like new condition - $90.00 Both are equiped with a single Cannon rod holder Local pick up in the Farmington / Canandaigua area Shipping available if necessary
  14. For the riggers - 8' 6" Medium UglySticks are perfect. Leadcore - 6'6" Uglystick Medium Heavy Seth Green Rig - Some crazy 5' saltwater rod that is super stiff - works good though...
  15. Great job Mike!!! This is a perfect wrap up to a great Finger Lake season....
  16. Iron Duke - yep that was me in the Proline - It was good to see so many folks still out there giving our lake Hell!! Mike - as far as the rant goes - your spot on!!
  17. Nice report - the lake was SLAMMED! At 07:30 25 bass boats came flying by the marina at 100 mph all trying to get to the same spot - gotta love those bass guys! It was a good morning with the bow bite consistent on the standard spoon program. My wire was quiet all day but the riggers were productive. Unfortunately I went 4/4 with not a single keeper!! All bows in the 2 # range. Great day once the sun came up though...
  18. You will be fine - my 25' Proline is 29' LOA and I launch it there twice a year.
  19. I braved the wind yesterday morning and went out on a solo trip starting south at the white rock. For obvious reasons I was only able to troll north (at what felt like 20 mph). I was marking good concentrations between the rock and Whiskey Point, nothing from there through Vine Valley but the fish finder was loaded on the east side in ~ 130' - 150' FOW north of Bristol Harbor. I picked up a 7# bow on a point (not sure the name) about 2 miles north of the condos and a 5# bow another half mile north. The 1st came on a gold / green NK and the 2nd came on a Green / Froggy / Chrome SD and mirage fly. I dropped a couple as well because its tough fighting 8 # bows and 40 mph winds at the same time
  20. I would've came and towed you back - one day it will be me who needs a tow
  21. You guys are half crazy but a good day anyway. I do feel a little bad since my boat is one that broke off and was tied off to the gas dock. Good report Mike....
  22. Very good report and congrats!! Keep the excellent feedback coming!!
  23. Great post - the south end was identical Saturday morning. We were out by 6:00 and the drag was ripping by 6:20. We had the usual cast of suspects out in a 6 rod spread and ended up 6/8 with cookie cutter 25" bows and lakers. Unfortunately the 2 we dropped were on the same wire dipsy and they were BIG fish!! Canandaigua is getting better every week!!
