  1. Two. One is an A6, the other an A12. Both green. $150 each or take both for $200. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Thanks Penny for keeping this Tournament running. This is the one that started it all. Your father was instrumental in bringing this event to Lake Ontario in 1985 after seeing the format was popular in Lake Michigan out of Ludington/Manistee. The tribute is fitting. The fishery has changed so much, in the mid 80s Pro teams were allowed 20 fish, and winning catches were made up primarily of large Lake Trout. Your father, understanding the restoration effort of Lake Trout, was way out in front of changing the format to allow far less Lake Trout in the creel. This led to the tournament becoming primarily a Silver fish event, and making all participants better anglers.
  3. Still very trailerable and will take a lot more water that the 16' tinny. Other than a motor box("dog house") that you may grow tired of it is an excellent stepping stone boat.
  4. It has been my privilege to be a part of a decision to rename the Oswego Pro-Am, and to be added to a newly forming Rules/Decisions committee. It is our goal to restore the prestige and participation to this classic event. Many exciting changes are being discussed including a two tiered entry fee for Pros, allowing entrants the ability to decide at what level they wish to compete dollar-wise. The new committee will still have a great local representation, but also consist of members from other ports. There will also be a special prize for the top scoring Charter boat/Captain who is fishing the event in conjunction with running his daily charter. This event will continue to be 1 of 3 tournaments utilizing the 2-day classic scoring format as it has in the past, and will also continue to be 1 of 3 Pro-Ams used in the lake wide Challenge Cup chase.(Niagara,Oswego, Sodus) Committee members will organize raffles and fundraising efforts that will run before and during this event, benefiting a worthy organization/cause(TBD) in Kevin's honor. Much thought was given before this name dedication was made. Kevin was a pillar of the Oswego fishing scene, both lake and river, and did fish the Pro Am several times. He was a part of a winning Pro team("TK") in 2007 and 2009. He loved Oswego and the fishery as much as anyone. The Am division has remained popular and no major changes are being planned. Please look here and on FB for more updates as they roll out. For now, the 2019 dates are July 13th and 14th, with the Captains mtg the eve of July 12th. The popular "1K a day" for largest King Salmon will be held that week July 11,12,13,14. Save the dates and looking forward to seeing everyone and helping the local organizers with this highly competitive event.

  10. This made me chuckle. I was bowhunting the Southern tier about 25 yrs ago and hadn't had a shot all season--but was leaving the next day to bowhunt Illinois(back then you could still get free permission). I was feeling sorry for myself as my "streak" of filling my NY Buck bow tag was going to end at 10 yrs. The buck to doe ratio down there at that time seemed to be 100 to 1 in favor of the does. My last NY bowhunt that year it was 70 degrees on a late October afternoon. As I climbed the hill to my chosen stand , I said to myself "I'm gonna pull out all the stops". I had a set of rattling horns with me that were large OH sheds--more appropriate for the midwest than that area at the time. I threw common sense and caution to the wind every 20 mins as I cracked those large antlers together on the edge of an in woods apple orchard. Around 430 pm the most bad ass 1.5 yr old Buck came strutting in stiff legged and I swear hair standing up. He literally came to the base of the tree, and I put a perfect shot on him. He bolted up the hill, and collapsed--rolling right back to the base of the tree. I literally had to climb over him when I got down. He was a "NY 11", a perfect 6 inch matching spike, LOL. To this day it is the smallest racked buck I've ever taken but one of the most memorable. Back then most of the landowners still permitted bucks only, and of course everything has changed for the better since then. Good luck to all the last day bowhunters! I've only taken a couple on the last day but they are most satisfying. Today I'm prepping to get my brother out for an all dayer tommorrow. Being in a wheelchair he's only good for one of those a season.

  14. Congrats--nice buck!
  15. Charlie you need to knock it off with putting words in people mouths that were never said. If you want to quote me--the science is wrong or incomplete. I have never said the 2nd year alewife numbers were "bad." To the contrary, they are immense. As for Capt Songin his quote was IF--IF they are so concerned with predation on young alewife then look no further than the Steelhead that target that size(first and second year) class of alewives almost exclusively. Not only do they prefer them, they occupy the same part of the water column much of the season. Stick to what you do best--repeating what you hear from the DEC. BTW, how many days a year do you spend ON Lake Ontario?
  16. Correct Brian. Both sides of the mouth. ONE river is getting the big returns this fall.
  17. Well written Brian. The bump from the big wild class of 2 yr olds has the anti King crowd squirming. The anti-King agenda has been in place for any years. It is now that they see opportunity--based on very weak census effort due to weather and mechanical breakdown. They are trying to wean anglers off the Chinook. Keep your heads in the sand and get ready for piles of dead alewife in the future once again as inadequately controlled populations are at greater risk of total collapse.
  18. Run flawlessly. Approx 1500 hrs each. $18,500 for the counter rotating pair.
  19. Those are actually Okuma Catalina 30Da's
  20. Awesome Jeremy, you definitely captured the essence of the day, the event, and the cause. What a great job you all did, thank you again.
  21. Unique, versatile rig that will pay for itself in fuel savings. At home in the Atlantic or the Great Lakes trolling Salmon or Walleye. Turn key pkg as it sits, but willing to remove some equipment.
  22. Reminder the Ladies tournament fundraiser event will once again be held the 1st friday of the Fall LOC derby, August 17th this year. Full details are available @ reelinforacure.com . In 2016 approx $4800 was raised for Marys Wig room which helps Women deal with the loss of their hair when undergoing chemo treatments. Last year this event raised $5000 for Breast Cancer network of WNY--metastatic research, which was the largest single donation they have received to date. This years benefactor will be the "Look good feel better" program through the American Cancer Society. Teams that already have a boat can enter, and some teams without a boat can sometimes be accommodated. At this point there are more Womens teams than volunteer boat owners/Captains, so please reach out if you would like to host a team-- reelinforacure.com Again, full details will be on the web site. Please do not direct questions to this post. Besides a fundraiser, a womens fishing tournament takes place and many women have been introduced to Lake Ontario and the fishery.
