  1. They have held up very well for several of us in the Olcott/Wilson area. The Blue Diamond comes in many actions including a 7'6" ML action that is ideal for Spring Board fishing. I also love the Convector 8'6" rigger rod in the 8-20lb test weight, for Spring and Summer Spoon fishing.
  2. That was our most successful system for the Pro-Ams for years. Both team members got to fish one day each. They both were actual team members and had a stake in it. It's great for a couple of team members who want to be involved at a smaller monetary level. The 2 would split a share of however you would normally do it.
  3. A Documentary will air at 10:30 pm on April 17th called "They're NOT Green". Spread the word as this will be something for the people stuck on the fraudulent "feel good" nonsense that has been spread. It is to be broadcast on PBS and KRCB.
  4. At a recent meeting of Niagara river guides, a Border Patrol agent was a guest speaker. He indicated that there are 40+ known terror cells in Canada. Knowing that the Lake Ontario/Lake Erie angling community keeps early/late hours and is often far from shore, he asked for our help. The agent asked that we report ANY suspicious looking characters or activities by calling the tipline @ 1--800--331--0353. This number covers from Erie PA to the St. Lawrence, and is good for U.S. citizens AND Canadians. Thank You.
  5. The guys at West systems are industry leaders in this type of stuff. They will either answer your email or phone call and help you. If they don't make that exact product, they probably make a similar one. Look them up online.
  6. Well Bruce, still won't be the same without hearing you and Joey arguing and then seeing you roll your eyes. Don't know how you pull off that "multiple chiefs onboard" thing anyways. As for missing Mark more, of course you will, you both have the same sarcastic sense of humor! I'm sure I will see you at Sodus, you'll find a 10 or 11 meter to jump aboard, and it's comfortably close to Monroe county waters! Take care and keep it rolling, we are gonna have it good this spring with the run-off.
  7. Where there is a will, there is a way. Cannon actually includes directions on how to mount their riggers in different situations. Can you get a hand up there on the underside, to at least get washers and nuts on? Many trailer boaters mount a board across to mount their riggers on. Ask this question in the "This old boat" section of this forum, and you will get lots of help.
  8. Sharpening your pencil early I see, huh Bruce? See you soon.
  9. Picking up where you left off, Glen. Good job!
  10. 2 ST 205/75 R 15 Super Cargo Trailer tires in good condition, with white 6 lug rims. $50 firm for the pair!
  11. Ed, things are looking good. The fresh fish in the Niagara are all real fat, and there is lots of smelt in the river. Bustin' it hard to get splashed this week coming.
  12. There are guys on here that are pier experts that can help you out. When I fished those piers in the late 70's/early 80's, this time of year it was 10lb test with ballbearing swivel using varying colors of 2/5 oz cleo's and white or chartreuse roostertails. The water is still cold so a slow retrieve prob best. Despite the cool weather, early AM still the best. I am seeing pier jockeys on those piers and the Olcott piers. Chances for Browns and dropback Steelies.
  13. Consider us in the overall Yvan. With your rule changes this is a fresh start for the KOTL. No one that is for fair play could say anything critical. We are already in the WHI, so we will register for the overall at Dahlousie.
  14. Don't know much about Iconelli, but the only episode of his I saw he showed up 2 hrs late for west coast Kings! You could read it all over the Capts face that he was pissed that he didn't listen to his request for a daybreak start. They caught 2 skippers. As for Tred, great choice. Some of the cameramen filming the Pro-Ams had worked with him and shared colorful stories. In his Big water tourny fishing days he had a great quote/suggestion--"ok mister big bucks CEO, you may be the king of your corporate concrete jungle, but if you want to have a chance to win out here-sit down, shut up, and listen to the Captain and the mate." He hit it dead on. After seeing a couple of the Pro-Am shows, I realize now everytime I play AC/DC's "Thunderstruck", I'm playing Toomey's anthem! You guys looked good Eddie.
  15. Jerry Felluca, Tom Burke, Andy Bliss, Bill Ruth, Bob Cinelli, Greg Gehrig, Pete Alex, Danny Evans and any of the other Lake O guys we can now see on TV. It was a long time coming and none of the footage is staged. Would rather see 30mins about our fishery and our players than 5 hrs of pretending. Jerrys footage is absolutely priceless! Love the part where he warns, "don't give up our spot, even if chicken wings are involved!"
  16. I can vouch for the new tilted element transducers. Answer to our prayers. Picture a flush "eye" looking down from the bottom of your hull. Can be ordered in many angles to fit your hull and mounting location. Besides easy installation and doing away with a fairing block, you will no longer have a protrusion causing drag. I will be installing a second one next week.
  17. Praying for his return to health.
  18. These reels are in good shape but are NOT counter reels. Filled with 30lb 7strand wire. $60 for the pair!
  19. Yes that is correct. I havent tried it,(running the probe on the opposite side of the 'ducer) but users have said the ducer is very wide-coned and forgiving. Just makes sense to mount it closer to where it will be reading. Also, in a smaller boat, it will be more stable and less turbulent down deeper on the transom when shes rocking.
  20. In most Aluminum hulls, the drain hole is dead center at the bottom of the transom. If you don't already have a transducer block on your transom you should consider one. Your helm area mounting challenges are a common one on aluminum boats. Although the readout isn't touted as waterproof, it disconnects in seconds from the base. Your idea of mounting it on a ram sounds reasonable.
  21. Well put Mark. In addition, once Man built the seaway and let ALL the exotics in, all bets were off. I personally feel very strongly that the wild success of the Pacific Salmon fishery in the Great Lakes is "Divine intervention." We get a second chance to use the wonderful wonders of the world for recreation and food. The only way to control the exotic Alewives that inhale the hatch of native species like Perch, Walleye, and Lake trout is with good populations of Salmon. Kings and Cohos are the solution, never the problem. Gambler is right though. This must be watched, as there are lots of things going on that defy Sportsmen and reasonable thought.
