  1. good guess....sounds right,but what do i know.....
  2. fished the same days and in the same general area. we went 9-11 saturday, all kings,5 of them were 10-15 lbs and 3 were majors right around 20.riggers worked best green and chrome and green and gold fashers and flies. a couple fish did come on meat all down 85-110 in 120-150 fow.dipseys only took one rip and fish was gone. sunday same area but everything moved up a little in the water column. went 5-7 kings and one steelhead.2 of the kings were 20 and 21 lbs.,rest were teenagers.again riggers were best but dipseys did fire a couple times at 250 and 275,flashers with meat and flies.riggers were goin at 75 and 85 down.fishin was a little slower this day but still enough to keep interested. good luck out there and please post reports, makes it nice when you have somethin to aim for when headin out.be well be safe john
  3. just wanted to agree with chubbedup, fairhaven is a very good double ramp with good docks and a good size parking area.i believe it's still 8.00 to use ramp for the day. good luck john
  4. 100-150 fow seems to be the best water this week....you'll find a pretty good lookin screen and although a fair amount of the hooks are lake trout there are kings mixed in.as the day goes on and things warm up and brighten the fish seem to move out to 200-225.another interesting fact, most of the kings taken are coming 100-130 feet of cable off the riggers.strasnge for 3rd week of may but that's where they have been.good luck to those headin out, friday's forecast doesn't look so good...please report if you do go out this weekend, that's what makes this a great site.....john
  5. HEY MR CLEAN NICE TO HEAR FROM YA.....I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE,I DOCKED RIGHT NEAR YOU ALL SUMMER LONG ON THE DOUBLE J ......I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE WAS ABLE TO FISH THESE EARLY DAYS OF OCTOBER AND JUST WHAT THE KINGS WERE DOIN....I'VE HEARD A LOT OF GREAT STUFF ABOUT THE "KING" YEAR THAT FAIRHAVEN HAD ESPECIALLY ON HOW EARLY THEY WERE CAUGHT AND WITH GOOD SIZE AS EARLY AS LATE APRIL AND EARLY MAY AND ANYONE WHO HAS FISHED THIS AREA OVER THE YEARS FAIRHAVEN WAS ALWAYS BROWNS IN THE SPRING AND MAYBE SOME KINGS IN SUMMER IF AT ALL.JUST SEEMS LIKE ALL SPRING AND SUMMER FISHERMAN PRETTY MUCH HAD A CHOICE ON WHAT SPECIES THEY WANTED TO GO AFTER.IF YOU WANTED TO GO FISH 100-500 AND SPEND YOUR TIME TRACKING SALMON THAT YOU COULD DO SO AND MOST TIMES YOU WOULD PUT KINGS AND SOME COHOS IN THE BOAT...AND OF COURSE YOU ALWAYS HAD THAT FAIRHAVEN BROWN PROGRAM IN CLOSE TO SHORE BAND MOVED OUT AS THE WATER WARMED,JUST SEEMED LIKE IT WAS ONE OF THE BETTER YEARS TO BE DOCKED IN FAIRHAVEN AND IT'S EXCITING TO WRITE ABOUT IT NOW...I KNOW YOU PUT A LOT OF FISH IN THE BOAT....DO YOU KNOW ABOUT DEC NUMBERS AS FAR AS AS SALMON THAT RETURNED TO FAIRHAVEN FROM THE PROGRAM THAT LOCAL FISHERMAN HAD INVESTED IN OVER THE THE LAST 4 YEARS.?? I KNOW MANY OF THOSE KINGS HAD FINS CLIPPED TO SHOW WHERE THEY WERE FROM??? JUST CURIOUS ON HOW MUCH YOU KNEW???IT'S ALREADY OCTOBER AND WINTER WILL BE HERE FULL BLAST BEFORE LONG...HOPE ALL GOES WELL AND I'LL KEEP AND EYE ON POSTINGS OVER THE WINTER...BE WELL JOHN

  13. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Double J ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water:48 hours Weather/Temp:warm sunny light winds all week Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: 57-62 Location:sodus -w. nine mile 10fow-700 fow LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS fished fairhaven all week, got out everyday 530am to 1-3 in the afternoon, light winds everyday, friday was the worst at 10-20 wsw.1 ft. close to shore and 3 ft. offshore.we were in search mode starting last sunday and it stayed that because we never got on a school of fish we could work.the fish we caught seemed to be all alone with nothing around that area after netting a fish.we caugt fish everyday but no more than two and a couple of days only one.the best picture right now is 70fow to 130 fow between moon beach and w. nine mile.there is lots of bait and there is good temp. down 60-80 with the bait.occasinally there will be a hook but most of them are stuck to the bottom.so the one coho was in 130 green and silver spoon and the one king came right after we had given up on kings, switched to 12lb. test gear and moved in to work 40 -70 and fish browns.we were set up 20 minutes and had a screamer rip out 450 feet on a light rod. 20 minutes later we had a 16 lb. king in the net on a 3 inch spoon bright orange with black dots and it was now cloudy after days of bright sun.after the fish nothing for hours.we worked all waters throughout the week searching.out deep we found great temp.,600-700 fow we had 52 degrees from 5-12 feet,at 15 feet it dropped to 47.fished the top 20 feet with small spoons and stick baits off riggers and boards and ended with one 4 lb. steelhead in 5 hours of fishin, also caught two lake trout, one down 12 and one off the board.??????? crazy **** fronm what i hear and saw the pics we should have been here the week before...oh well that's fishin.....got to spend the week with my two bros and my brother in law, cabin was great, ate like kings and weather was too nice.....anybody goin out, good luck and be safe, have some patience............................. ====================
