  1. Fished Canandaguia today for the first FLTA tournament of the year ... Fished the the south end, we ran cores coppers wires rigs and downriggers.... Fishing was slow today for us and really had to work to put some fish in the boat but picked away and managed to get a few... Overall we went 4 for 5 with a laker and 3 browns placing us in 4th place for the day.... It was great to see everyone again and already cant wait til Keuka !!! Mike
  2. Nice Browns man!! I made a huge mistake and ran way north yesterday instead of staying in the southend and was punished dearly for that lol... When we got back to southend we got into some fish but nothing worth weighing my friend decide we were skipping the weigh in .... Wish we hadnt now would of liked to see that 21 pound laker , that must have been some fish.... Great job guys and great report.. Mike
  3. Great job guys!!!!! That Brown was huge !!! Nice to actually meet you last night at the dock... Keep up the great fishing and reports. ... Mike
  4. I take that back just heard 1 dock is in !! I will be launching at the south end !!! Mike
  5. Thanks Sk8man !!! Thats great news !! That will give me a bit more fishing time Sunday.... Thanks again for the update!!!! Mike
  6. Last time I heard the docks werent in yet..... So I plan to launch up north and run back south to a couple of my favorite spots but the weigh in is still in the south end so gonna lose a bit of valuable fishing time but what ya gonna do ....Hope to see ya out there channel 68 on vhf if ya make it out.. Mike
  7. I know what ya mean.... We put the 235 Sportcraft thru her paces yesrerday on Seneca in that wind but when the waves started swallowing the church boards we called it ya day ..... Have a tourney over on Canandaguia next weekend and cant wait ..... Mike
  8. You will be fine with otters and sticks or even spoons.. Orange spoons have been hot... run a dipsy down for lakers with a spinny and fly combo and the other out in the 140 to 160 feet of wire range with a spoon and that should produce for ya also... Good luck... Mike
  9. First off let me start by saying holy south wind today !!! Lol..... Launched out of Watkins setup right out front heading toward the west side.... Capt Nick O and I set out the spread of copper cores dipsys and Riggers while Bill tryed to keep us heading in the right direction in the wind..... We were taking a few small salmon and browns when the rigger popped and doubled over and actually pulled a bit of drag before we could get it out of the holder to give to Bill, Bill fought it for a few on the light action ugly stick and managed to get it to the net, not a monster but for its size one hell of a fighter..... We ended up calling it a day early do to the wind.... Overall a decent morning going 6 for 7 on Browns and Landlocks.... Finger Lakes Tackles spoons did most of the damage again today, if you dont have some of these spoons you need to get some....Heres a few pics from today.... Mike
  10. Thanks guys!!!! Bigfoot I fish many tourneys through the year and one of the guys who fishes with us keeps an extensive DEC diary for our boat, but as far as every trip fishing I do not..The Rainbow I was in a hurry to get it back in as fast as I could so I did not notice... Mike
  11. Thanks man!! Thanks for the favor this week... Wouldnt have gone probably but couldnt pass up the opportunity .... Thanks Again Mike
  12. Fished out of Watkins this morning with my girlfriend her son and my boy.. Setup shop right out front near break wall worked toward the west side..Ran coppers cores and dipsys.... Started putting the leadcores out but just couldnt get that accomplished for the first 45 mins the fish were smacking the spoons as soon as I got them set but the boys had a blast reeling them in as fast as I could hand the rods to them , we were getting browns and salmon left and right with a few pushing 4 to 5 lbs and also picked up a 15 inch rainbow in the mix.... Then the Dipsy fires with a 6 lb laker that put up a fight for the girlfriend but she did a great job getting it to the boat, Grand Slam !!!!!! The fishing stayed great all morning and the boys were tuckerd out by 11 so we headed in... Finger lakes tackle spoons were on FIRE today!!!! Big Weenie Filthy Frankie produced the Laker... Think we ended up 18 for 19 today with all fish released to fight another day.. Heres a few pics from todays trip Mike
  13. The rods on the rail are coppers front to back they are 100 copper 200 copper and the 300 copper all are running off in- line tx 22 church boards the next rod is the wire dipsy followed by the Downrigger rod same on other side except they are leadcores... Hope that helped... Mike
  14. Launched out of Watkins at 6 AM setup shop right out front working toward west side... We ran a 10 rod spread 3 coppers 3 leadcores 2 wires and 2 riggers... We fished quite a while before getting into our first fish which was really surprising since the conditions were about perfect..... The fishing was slow but after seeing all the bait on the Lowrance and the recent full moon I guess the fish really didnt need to feed... Overall we went 5 for 7 boating 3 landlocks and 2 lakers and losing 1 great laker right behind the boat which pulled quite a bit of drag on the wire when it hit..... Big Weenie Flys and Finger Lakes Tackle did the damage today.... Mike
  15. Seneca Ghost is Big Weenie Brand !!! Hills Valleys and Streams stocks them along with a huge selection of spoons..... Stop in and check them out you won't be disapointed.... Mike
  16. Hills Valleys and Streams in Elmira NY has them in stock.... You can pay over phone and they will ship.. MIKE
  17. Way to go Sean !!! You keep putting quality fish in the boat for your clients everytime and thats what makes you one of the best on the Fingers if not the best , keep up the Awesome fishing!!!!! P.S. Leave the net in the boat Mike
  18. Cool !!! Glad you you made it ... Hope to see you tomorrow....
  19. Probably go with the coppers setups if u want to get that deep or invest in a couple downriggers or wire dipsys.... Leadcores you are gonna get 5 to 7 feet down per color depending on speed... You catch lakers shallower in the early parts of the year do to water temperature but once it warms up you will have to fish deeper... Also look for bait and fish your riggs thru it above it and below it ...... Target the fish not the depths!! Hope that helped and good luck to you Mike
  20. Awesome job Sean and Jason .... Those are some beautiful Browns and some real healthy looking Lakers.... You guys always put your clients right in the mix.... Way to start the year off and keep up the great fishing !! Mike
  21. Seneca south end would be a great place to try out those boards... Run some sticks and spoons and you should have no problem getting some browns and landlocks... Mike

  24. Marty rigged my buddys Trophy up with those riggers over the weekend they look great on there .... He told me to tell you thanks again and he loved how fast they were.... I'll try not to send you to many pics of all the fish we catch on them... Lol Mike
