Nice walleye and nice picture with mountains or hils in background . How was it caught trolling.
  4. Nice job Kevin, I caught my first eye Sat. night still was not that great of a night for me, had a few issues . I hope to get down there some morning and try it, maybe I will see you down there . I end up getting a new boat so I have been trying to get things switched around that was some of my issues. I got rid of the Alaskan and ended up getting a tyee hard to get used to it from tiller to wheel if you know what I mean. Last time I went down had the Alaskan and the motor wouldn't shift into forward seems like every time I have went to fish I have had a bad spell hopefully that is over by now. Good luck and maybe we will run into each other at some point , would like to maybe go up this fall to bay of quintile if I can get them other guys to go .
  5. What lake were they talking about it being a magnet, every lake has its favorite magnet or people think its a magnet because it works well for them.
  6. How do you pm someone I would send one to lakebound88 if I can get it figured out thanks.
  7. I am interested in the mold that makes this spoon or any spoons that someone might have kicking around the tackle box like this on was a hot lure back in 80's early 90's excellent lake trout spoon for jigging weighs about 1 oz. thanks .Would also like to know where and who made it . they claim it was made local in NY thanks for the help.

Comes with cover that Lund sent with it when it was bought new. Has a clean title. Moving up to a bigger boat. Serious inquiries only. Will post pics some time this weekend. One of a kind boat! asking $17,500 this is about $700 less than low book and about $2800 less than average book value. Call 315-523-2312 Thanks
  9. The fishing in the winter was as good as winter fishing gets I cant speak for any thing else, like I said used to go down at least one night a week and always caught walleye from the wall from Jan. til march.never a lot of people at most maybe 6 a lot of times 3 might be with myself. It was a different kind of fishing for sure never made it down this year hope to get down next winter and try it again hopefully someone will fill us in on why it is so much different than it was 10 to 15 years ago Thanks and good luck fishing.

    oneida lake

Never fished oneida lake, gonna be all new, wondered where the closest place to launch a boat to get in some decent walleye fishing, I will be getting off 81, I will be coming south.I am not lookinking for spots just a good launch starting point Thanks also are morning better than evenings I have a 1.5 hour drive .
  11. The main thing is you guys caught fish, glad to here you guys had a good time and caught some fish. We fished Lisbon area open weekend stayed on american side caught lots of eyes with only one keeper 22" talked to quite of few other with pretty much same results. Cant wait to get down on the river around the bay and clayton hopefully it will be better than last year i seemed to really struggle compared to the year before.
  12. I have a lowrance hds 5 lake insight, also have navionics preminum chart chip for it . My question is I also have a garmin handheld with garmin bluechart card in it covers a lot more and as far as I am concerened a lot better detail, does anyone know with today technology is it possible to make the bluechart format so the lowrance will or can read it I, I have been told that the bluechart only works in garmin but I find that hard to believe that there is not away to get it to work with all these computer salvay people around. I know garmin wants you to use theirs and lowrance wants you to use theirs also but if a individual has both he should have the option to use either one in either unit. they could even make more money and that's what it is all about, it would give customers one more option as far as cards for there unit .

    oswego river

I used to fish down there in the winter for walleyes . Fished right down town open water from jan. til march 15 mosly weekends at night . Its about a 2 hr drive last few years been down there no luck what so ever still get the browns ,lakers and occasionaly steelhead . All of our fishing is done at night between 6pm till 1 or 2 am we drive it so its a long way to go to not get any eyes . When i first started going it was unbelieveable alwaye caught eyes some nights better than others but never got skunked. Just wondered if anybody has any input what went wrong down there to me it started after they did all the work on side walks by motels new fence not sure about tailrace by lock just dont seem to have the back current there used to be to me thats when it went down hill at lest in the winter. Its been 8 to 10 years since its been good this time of year from what i can see but i dont live right there so i can try it more often any input would be appreciated. Thanks
  14. Nice fish. The walleyes have slowed down alot compared to normal years. I am hoping to try it down by the cape next weekend aroud ironman and carlten island never fished down that way but i have heard that the fishing gets good down that way this time of year time will tell. Nice to see your father enjoying it.
  15. If you have waited this long wait till nov. fisrt part dec. and head for the Bay of Quintie. It would be worth the wait and the drive, i hear i am hoping to go around second week of nov. It is around hour and a half to two hours from where i live and to me it will be worth it if i can make it. Good luck.
  16. Fished the river friday night thought it was gonna be good because water temp came down a little not so. Fished from around 6:45pm till about 10:30pm and all i caught was two smallies and no walleyes also water has drop more also. Hopefully things will start to pick up ,hoping to fish a few mornings the end of this week, got a few days off.
  17. I am thinking about hitting river tonight and if i dont get home to late maybe try in the morning also. Its hard to leave after dark when you have it basically to yourself. They are some nice eyes Kevin, that seems to be about the average as far as i can see. I have caught 4 total, all around 21 to 25 inches very solid fish.Good luck fishing
  18. Went to the river thursday night , got there about 6:30, water was quite choppy the way i like it, other than the wind was out of NNE. Caught my first walleye around 6:50 thought i was gonna have a banner night . I keep moving around trying to play the wind in my favor finally got walleye # 2 around 8:10, then they seem to shut off for what ever reason, tried till around 9:15 to get #3 so i would have my limit, never happened home by a little after 10pm still not a bad night considering the conditions nobody else in site fishing either. I will one day figure out how to post pictures.

    walleyes

Kevin i think you are right the current would play havoc with the line . A friend of mine tried it 3 weeks ago and only caught one that probably is not to bad for that time of summer. I also thourht about planer board but you would have to do it during week and almost definitely in ealy morning.

    walleyes

Fished the st. lawrence Friday night caught alot of fish from smallies, rockies, gobies , and finally around 9:00 pm got my first walleye of the year for this area of the river. Went back sat. night tried trolling worm harnesses, jigged with bucktails, spoons , and jigs with gulp, same deal caught lots of fish but only one eye and that came at about 11:00pm not to far up river from the one the night before both solid 23" like no where else. Eyes with shoulders hopefully things will pick up, water seams to be quite warm do to the weather we have been having. Just wondered has anybody tried using leadcore line instead of bottom bouncers. I use homemade bottom bouncers just wondered if the leadcore would work that well with the currrent.
  21. Fish down there 2 weeks ago seemed to be more weeds than normal even where i was trolling. Alot of weeds floating. Just wondering Kevin were they up around the 25 to 30 foot range that is where i had my best luck last year this time of year, i am hoping to get back down there this weekend. Still havent had much luck jigging for them which is my pefered method. Good luck and maybe we will meet up on the river one of these days.
  22. Its not hard to find the walleyes down there if you go down that way very often just look for all the boats ., not so much the guides but locals like i said if you are there very often you will start to reconize who is fishing where its no different than ice fishing , to start with go where the crowd is and work away from there i always figured that was always a starting point, most people that have payed there dues aren't gonna cough up to much info , i don't fish down that way that much but just from the few times i have and what i have read on a few fourms it wouldn't take but a trip or two to figure things out. Good luck and hope this helps.
  23. Does any body know what happened to the walleyes in the oswego river . I used to travel down there and fish from shore depending on the weater from Jan. til march 15 did it for several winters . The last few years have been terriable. It is about a 2 hour drive but me and my father in law used to go down on weekends faithfully and drive home that night. We would try to get there about 5:30 pm and stay til 12 to 1:00 am . Bucktail jigs were hot we would also catch a brown , lake trout or steelhead on occasion. I think it all started to go down hill when they did all the new railings and side walks. I think they also messed with the lock or tailrace on that side changed the water flow some how.We fished on the east side behind subway by the two motels.
  24. what size boat and motor are you using . just wondering looks like a lund ssv. i have one just wasn't sure if it would be big enough for this time of year i know it probably depends on the weather and wind also is that a newer mercury that shifts on the throttle handle and if so how do you like it . Thanks alot for your time and nice fish.
  25. That why they have reproduction fish mounts . It takes more of a sportman to release a fish of that caliber than to keep, no different than hunting, passing up small bucks.
