  1. Finally got a camera out at my normal spot last week. All pics between 7 and 10am except this one. I'd like to get a better pic but I think he's a shooter and I'm fairly certain this is the 2.5 year old 8 I passed up 15 times last season. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  5. I haven't seen a deer in my last 4 sits. Hoping they get this corn cut and also hoping the cold tomorrow morning will get them on their feet. Early season is usually tough in my spot but I don't remember it being this tough. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Funny you say that. I had my big doe I wanted come in this afternoon and missed her on a deflection on a tiny twig I couldn't see. I've only ever missed one other deer with my bow and it was the same stand I was in today my second year hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. 2 big does came in behind me almost got into my shooting lane and the neighbor way up on the hills lawn crew showed up and made a ton of noise so they left. Also had a small buck behind me I couldn't get a great look at. Even though I couldn't get a shot at the does it was nice to get the heart rate up for the first time this season. 12. Good luck everyone who's getting out. I have drill for the National Guard this weekend so won't be out until Monday or Tuesday. My buddy got permission to hunt a farm from a kid he goes to school with and got these two bucks on trail cam. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Yea I'm not really buying that either Bozeman Bob. My father and uncle have hunted in Northwestern Montana since the early 90s and have seen a dramatic decrease in deer and elk since then. They said back in the day you'd see 120 class bucks crossing the roads left and right now a 120 inch buck is a rarity. I've hunted there since 2007 and my last trip there in 2014 you could also see a dramatic decrease in deer and increase in wolves. Also like Gill T said I would agree that the mass amounts of lakers have a huge impact on bait. Talking about fish that can live for 30 years and eat far more bait fish than salmon or trout in the same size range. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. I think it's going to be difficult to find a boat that size with good fishing accommodations and a "cruiser" feel. We have a 88 S24 Sea Ray that has removable riggers and rod holders. It's a nice boat overall for fishing or general boating but it's doesn't have the room to make it a great fishing boat. If you're looking for a fishing boat with outboards in that size I may look into a mid 90s Sea Ray Laguna 24 flush deck cuddy. Nice v berth, a lot of fishing room and you can find them for around 15k with updated 4 stroke outboards. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. I finally got the go ahead on some new land to hunt so I'll probably be walking that and setting cameras this weekend. As for my usual spot I have no cameras there now but I did after the season last year and the 120ish 8 that I let walk nine or ten times was, much to my surprise, still walking 3 weeks after the season so hopefully he really blew up this year.
  16. Believe me that pic was not put up to steer the OP towards going to Fish Wish. I'm having a 13.10 Atlantic done now (obviously not by her) and if it comes out half that bad I'm going to freak.
  17. This is a Fish Wish Atlantic if you're still contemplating. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  20. Theres a lot more experienced and knowledgeable people on here than me but I'll give you what little info I have acquired over the years. Trolling speed- For salmon and trout 2.0-2.5. Lakers will hit at that speed as well but I usually troll 1.6-1.9 when targeting them. Lead length on lures really depends on the time of the year and what you're using. Earlier on fishing for browns in close you need to keep the leads long to keep your spoons away from the boat. In the summer months deeper for salmon 6-20 foot leads are the usual and sometimes it depends on the day. Depth for fish- depends on time of day and what you're targeting, the salmon may be high in the column in the morning and can be driven down later in the high sun or boat traffic. Never having fished from your port its hard to tell on wind direction I know that as far as oswego goes North and West winds at any significant speed can really blow the lake up while you can have a stout south wind and never really get blown off.
  21. I know quite a few people that feed them to their dogs. Don't know too many people who eat them.
  22. Something like what you're looking for that can be found in your price range possibly even rigged is a 10 meter Trojan. Older boat but I believe that they're a different stringer design and solid fiberglass. I'm currently looking for a similar boat in the same area as far as price range. Older Tiaras and Trojans are about all that's out there maybe a 330 coastal if you can find one. About the cheapest you'll find a 330 Express Cruiser is 55 but they are a very nice boat I've fished quite a bit on one with a member on here.
  23. I caught like 15 in an hour and a half right behind the fort in Oswego using Mr Twisters. Can't get back there anymore on shore but you can easily fish it from a boat. I don't wanna hear any of the spot burner guys because 90% of oswegos population fishes in that spot.
  24. I know a lot of guys will hang a light bulb on the bottom of the engine cowl to keep the temp above freezing
  25. One launch dock is in with one lane open.
