Its actually a good thing. Back in the day youth was separate from the other divisions. Theoretically you could catch a grand prize fish and cash zero. In 01 my son won youth bow. No cash but if it was an adult fish would have cashed.
Wasn't a big deal, wouldn't have been top 5.
Pic of him I have at the ceremony with Patsy Destaffen from NK is awesome.

Of the ten fish in the dead animal room, six different taxidermists. Some are definitely better than others.
Take good pics and share them with your taxidermist. Think about how you want your fish posed. Also discuss how long it will take to complete. I brought a big bow my then 6 year old caught only to get it back when he was almost 9.
Good conversation will hopefully avoid disappointment.

Just had a pretty red coyote in the backyard food plot. Wife saw a big gray the other night. As much as I look forward to bow season I can't wait to seeing some fur fly!!!! Killed a dozen (ish) yotes last year and I bet we get as many this year.

And to think 30 years ago a radio direction finder was the high tech gadget. Loran C and VHF were soon to follow. Next thing you know graphs were paperless...... How many here remember and miss the smell of a paper graph. Good news is I still run a lot of the spoons from those days and they still produce.
My trip was cut short this morning, blew the starter on my trolling motor. Spoke to a couple guys that said good screen but slow fishing.
Lake looked nice, blowing a little now out of the north east.
Was in 90 to 110. Decent screen but not as good as the morning. Pulled lines at 6 with one more brown and lost a pig brown behind the boat. Spent almost a half hour the last 50 feet. Would get it close only for it to run deep and out another 50. Pissed me off when the hook pulled. Saw him four or five times, was a slob.
Ps, great Atlantic, haven't caught one in years. Great fish.
