  1. Currently 36 inches on a calm day hugging the west side. The shallow spot on the east side is soft, watched folks churning it up both this morning and afternoon.
  2. Crazy Mike I’ve seen one this year.
  3. Mops if you ever want to jump on mine rather than drop yours let me know. I usually go Wednesday and Sunday mornings and usually am back at the dock by noon.
  4. Glad you got out. When going in or out of the channel cheat to the west side. Couple feet deeper than the east side.
  5. Only one small one on one Brown this year.
  6. Great opportunity for someone to learn a lot. Pay for a charter and increase the learning curve a ton. Or…. Be an observer in a tournament and get paid to watch and learn. No brainer.
  7. Lol today I wore socks and jeans. Never saw a fly. Maybe I’m on to something…..
  8. Fresh from Greg Blier, American Wildlife Taxidermy.
  9. Filleted the salmon from this morning for a couple people that wanted some. Was full of eggs.
  10. Great job! Had Tommy and his girlfriend out in the same water for a couple hours and got her her first king. Good news Brian, still haven’t caught a laker this year 😉.
  11. If it’s on the internets it has to be true. cool fish if it is!
  12. Yes he was. Special guy, they don’t make many guys like him anymore. They should. I remember him, Carl Ayer’s, Don Whitenight, Charlie Chic and more. Thankfully a few of those guys are still around. They made Sandy Creek what it is today.
  13. Ed Patt? Lived on 19 near what is now Tops? Guy was a legend.
  14. I was fortunate on the net job. My net is extended when I’m not out alone., but I keep it short if solo. I was careful to stay tight but gave the fish a few extra minutes before sliding him to the net. 100lb braid with an 80lb Flourocarbon to the Spin Dr on a 10 ft dypsy rod is a plus those last few feet. Net slid right under him and that was it.
  15. Proud to say still haven’t caught a laker all year!
  16. Got a late solo start today. Had to mow the lawn and plow up the food plot. Left the dock around 1130 and motored out to 230 foot of water and headed north. Deep rigger at 90 feet, 50 degree water with a Spin Dr and fly. Second rigger running a Mag Pirate and a Slide Diver out 275 with a Wonder Bread Spin Dr. The flys were biting bad, my ankles were bloody and an hour and a half in I had landed 2 bows and a low teens King. I was thirsty and sick of the flys and decided to clear. I cleared the deep rigger first followed by the one at 75. Turned to grab the dipsy and it started to scream. 800 feet on the first run, knew it was a good fish. Started to turn on the fish when it ran another 300. Thankfully the other rods were up, I circled the fish for a half hour and got bit by more flies. The fish stayed deep the whole time but eventually came up and I managed to get the net under it. Just under 27lbs of pure silver. Wasnr able to revive it but found a family fishing Long Pond that were thrilled to have it.
  17. That’s awesome! i bet that fish is as old as the guy that caught it. Very cool.
