  1. Well with all this wind blowing I would think it even knocked the fish around lol...Hopefully you get something tomorrow am if you go. It looks like the lake is settled so good luck for tomorrow. Full moon was tonight I think so that may turn it on... Ill be running tuesday am....
  2. Im at bayside marina next door. You will see the boat lol.. Honestly I am on 72 now. I didnt fish this weekend because I had to work at the syracuse nationals setting up some stages. I will be up Monday night and fish Tuesday and Wednesday. After that I wont be around until the following Monday because I am a stage manager at harborfest in Oswego that starts this coming Thursday. Basically its a 4 day event with four stages and about 40 bands. Ill be working with foghat, Blue Oyster Cult and a bunch of other awesome musicians BTW if anyone is in the area next week you should checkout Harborfest in Oswego, Great party! Check me out Tuesday for fishin, Hopefully everyone up there is catching fish, 100 to 200 out is all.....but yea I will be there Tuesday am.
  3. Ohh and congrats to Time flies/coyote fishing team out of Fair Haven. They placed 4th in the Oswego Pro/Am and had a temporary lead slot in the LOC derby. Way to rep the area guys!
  4. Ohh I agree the lake has been perfect lol..(assuming thats what was spoken in lol) But fishing is good, today the charters came back with some nice salmon, still around the 100 to 220 range, east toward oswego. Looks like the weather picks up tomorrow night. It was breezier today I admit that so hopefully it doesn't happen...
  5. Fishin is back Salmon are in the 100 to 200 range. Stellies are in 90 feet of water 50 down. I got a nice one yesterday not being out more than 2 hours. The salmon are at 100 to 200 75 to 80 down where the temp is. Its breezy today so it may shake up abit but they are moving in close so stay tuned
  6. Thanks guys..Theres not much we can do but an honorable nautical sendoff certainly is appropriate. Boy its hot!. I want to go fishing but man its hot lol....Maybe late tonight, definitely tomorrow am. Ill post what we find..if anything lol...
  7. This is one of those posts I really don't want to make but I do so out of respect and admiration. This past week one of our local friendly fisherman unexpectedly passed away. Captain Chuck Creller of Rustic Charters was one of the most informative fisherman in the area. It was Chuck who we all went to in order to find out what was really going out on the lake. Its so hard to comprehend the loss of knowledge, the loss of friendship and the loss of life unexpectedly taken from us. He truly was the man, a quite man, a nice friendly man and although I didn't know him as well as others in the area his passion for fishing and his willingness to help others will be missed area wide in Fair Haven. Just not seeing him leave every morning out of Bayside Marina and returning with fish threw me off this week. Its just not right... To honor Chuck this Saturday at 5pm we will have a boat procession in his honor beginning at Bayside Marina. For those of you in the area who would like to join in the procession please do so. I know he had a lot of friends outside our Marina so I am posting this to cover anyone who did not know. RIP Captn Creller....you will be missed...
  8. Way to go coyote lol u da man! good luck today everyone...
  9. Go get em guys. I wont be going till tomorrow am..My only advise is start at 100 lol I do stagehand work for the music industry and did a great gig last night with a blues guitarist named tinsley ellis. Im definitely popping a CD into the tune box on the boat when I get out...But I just got home and need to sleep lol. Let us know how you do, good luck guys bring em in! See you out there tomorrow!
  10. Yea the park is awesome. great weather week too. There is some great pike and bass fishing in the pond area around by the cabins.
  11. Not a thing lol. I went out this afternoon from 2 to 5. Although it isnt prime time , I figure I would go out before the front moves thru. They say the lake is supposed to pickup tonight and settle tomorrow. I head out to about 50 and start from there. You couldnt ask for a better chop on the water, couldnt ask...I started marking fish in pods around 80, then at 120. I trolled out to about 170 and worked my way back, ran into more schools around 100, continued into 40 then I fished for browns just outside the pier. For the life of me my guts telling me go deep, go deep but with what has been caught in close I had to stay committed lol..so I did so lol... I used my purple frogs and my silver/aqua nk mag and several other setups, went right thru em but couldnt get a budge...I guess thats why they call it fishing lol... Front just blew threw about a half hour ago...tomorrow should be good in the am.
  12. Yup you get out there and the screens look great lol.... Im going out later tonight after the storms roll thru...hopefully they turn on lol....should be out there by six if all goes well...
  13. I leave em in the bucket at the fish cleaning station...and walk away lol
  14. Awesome, and go get em. lol...hopefully you can fill the box. see you on the water for sure
  15. I know I had 68 on friday but saturday I was on 72 because I was talking with some people and forgot to change it back lol... I have to keep playing in shallow now lol...Its one of those things that this time of year Im so used to firing out deep lol...gotta pull the reins back on the horse.....
  16. Well you both did well. I couldnt get nothin to go lol. I was stupid I should have stayed in close early but got greedy and ended up blank. I basically missed the timing on the bites lol. I kept fishin in that 70 80 foot range convinced there was a king or two and I found stuff but noooo takers lol.. If the water stays where it is I might go back out tuesday morning early and go for those browns... good job
  17. Thats awesome! You guys did better than 90 percent of us lol.....I made a mistake going deep early because the fishing was good inside. Fish were around but we could not get anything to take. Congrats to everyone who scored cause it was hard for sure. Great weekend though. Fish seemed to be scattered. Early morning browns around 30-50 feet of water and there is still that line of fish in the 70-80 range but man they were not interested much. I went back this morning and setup in 30 feet and moved out to 180. Not a thing lol....Hell even the biting flies disappeared lol as though they knew everyone left to go home lol. So if anyone did score big kudos cause it was tough. I will say at least the lake and the sun were workin....I had no problem sitting on the rock beach the rest of the day. When I got back this am a "headhunter" came up to me to see if I did anything. I told him no and I jokingly said I suck lol...Well he did share some decent information with me. He said (as we all know) everyone was spoiled last year. For the month of June they inspected approximately 700 kings last year....this year 100 which is the avg...He like the rest of us believes it will really turn on soon.... Lets see if Tuesday is soon lol
  18. Ohhh i know that bay is on fire with the rockies lol.....beautiful day up here today....were gonna hang tight until later and then hit that 80 foot mark. There was a huge brown taken out there as well yesterday. I did weight just under 20...just under... happy 4th weekend guys see u out there
  19. The fish might not be biting so much but the flies sure are. They are brutal lol... The last two days its been slow, occasional steelie and some kings around 80 feet of water , 50 feet down, west of the chute. Im going to keep playing in that 70-80 feet range, Alot of stuff there for sure...Just gotta get em to move abit...
  20. Yea they have not moved much from there at all. I might give em a go tomorrow...
  21. Hey guys some have asked me about the fireworks I guess there was some confusion??? Anyway this weekends Fair Haven 4th of July celebration goes like this.. Thursday noon is the boat parade and the street parade starts at 7pm Friday they have the carnival and the craft village open and a chicken bbq Saturday are the fireworks and the ring of fire. That all starts at 9pm Well the winds are playing the game lol. We are ready to go and will fuel up tomorrow and start in the afternoon. Now that bayside has full internet we can sort of post live lol... But anyway thats the schedule above for those that care and hopefully we all fill the boxes over the long weekend... Start at 100 work your way out, pick your direction and enjoy... Good luck everyone
  22. Lol hell ive been telling my story about the 65 pounder I had on the line 25 years ago...and people are still buying the story years later HAHAHA (j/k) Thats the nice thing about Fair Haven...We really dont get too much into that competition delusion that exists else-wear....I guess we all just quietly enjoy fishing around here....and helping other achieve the same success regardless of if your a captain or a clown..
  23. Well happy 4th of july week everyone!. So lets recap shall we lol. Talk about a roller coaster year so far. It started out very promising with the browns. This year took awhile because of the weather but other than one week of shut down the browns faired very well. Some were nice and big in the mid to high teens which is awesome. Im still convinced some are sitting in that 70-80 foot range but I could be wrong. There were also some nice size steelhead mixed in with the browns so that was a nice surprise too. Then came the lakers. Sort of the red headed step brother of the lake however they stopped alot of skunked days for many so I guess we have to give them their due lol. They are big this year...real big and plentiful. And it was amazing how some were hitting up in the 50 foot range...They still are on the bottom 120-150 Now we start July and its Salmon season and so far it looks right on schedule. With what came in over the weekend and WHERE they were is a great indication that we should have a great Salmon season for Summer. Im ready and I am certain all you guys (and gals) are so lets get out there and enjoy it. Here is a stoke video from the 4th of last year. I know some of you have already seen this one but I wanted to post this to everyone wishing you all great luck on the lake wherever you are and hopefully you get to fill the box this coming week. Get pumped everyone ....this is our time!
  24. Its a great sign...Yesterday was a great day for alot of boats. Salmon were steady in the 100 to 150 range and hitting on things across the board ie spoons, flies , bait..Most were caught 100 feet down. Several boats came in with nice fish. Some like mentioned above (great job guys) steelies were taken as well. The lakers were still going well too. Some of the Charters brought nice size ones in...same program there....So congrats to everyone who fished and posted your reports. Its nice to see it turn on finally and it should shape up as it was this time last year. Me I stayed in and got my smaller boat running. I have family coming this week so I figure I get her going. Ill start backup for kings on Tuesday am. I actually caught some nice bass (4lbs plus) right out front of chinook harbor.....As a sidebar for those coming in this week make sure you bring your smaller rods and tackle because the bay is doing well with bass, perch, pans and pike (thats a whole other world FH bay has to offer lol) and after a day on the lake its alot of fun as the sun sets in the bay for sure. Kudos to the charter captains and others who participated in the "wounded warriors" event at Anchor resort. Its a great thing to bring the vets out on the lake and donate your time. Also kudos for bringing the disabled children out this am too. I heard they had a great time out on the bay.... The fish cleaning station had some nice full buckets...its good to see....
