there is always " that guy"He is entitled to his vote but I would argue that its a bit short sighted. Qualitytime is holding a big fish in his selfie pic... looks happy too. Lol On the topic of shooting bald eagles, if it weren't our national symbol and we had gone with Ben Franklin's choice, the wild turkey, would opinions be different? hmmm, ever shoot a crow?? If we had millions of bald eagles that were taking dogs and small children, well..... that's not the case but , just saying.. Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Sounds fantastic! I am assuming the bacon is pre cooked. I am a big fan of gorgonzola cheese and maybe dried pears. I now have to get some fresh straps! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Jason, We certainly have troopers for significant others! Wife and I managed 5 Lakers and one small 11" bow. Wind was atrocious, and pretty cold with the heavy frost that morning. Noticed that the fish each had one mostly digested alewife and one fresh one in their stomachs. The bait fish were large too 5-6" long. Three fish came on custom FLTA flasher with blue/ green ITO fly, other fish came on blue green ALPHA alewife, also Flta. Maybe should have used mag lures. I agree with you about them eating zebras, but when you create a healthy self sustainable population that is fishable you have a win win for the fish and everyone around the fishery. All outdoor conservation efforts depend on the value of the game and what it is worth to our state. Licenses to catch and release these fish can pay for future generations of sturgeon. The people that come to fish for them will spend $ in our local economy and hire captains to help them hook up, I certainly have catching a 200# plus dinosaur on my bucket list, that's worth a lot to me. Am I selfish? Yup...fish on baby!Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

That was the worst coyote mauling I have ever seen. Must have been 15 to 20 yotes the destruction area was thirty yards in a big circle. Many many piles of coyote scat.. they even ate its face off! We see way too many deer lost to coyotes that we find tracking. I can always tell if yotes are on the track, my dog starts marking (peeing) cause she can smell them filthy animals! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Was sitting at a diner today and overheard a guy state he had caught two fish over 70 lbs in Cayuga. I had to ask him how he caught them.. well he tells me and I say you know its illegal to even try to fish for them. He says I know the fine is like $750.! now I'm not being a whistle blower, because I would like to see a controlled catch n release for these ancient creatures! Just like to hear some opinions on the subject. Out West it is a huge draw for people to fish for sturgeon. Why not here? I know trolling the lake I have marked fish much too big to be trout. So what do you think, more license sales could put more money into the fishery.. is there a big enough population for it to be a sport fish? what do ya'll think? Truth being, most everyone I have tracked for are very good shots and very good trackers. We are usually the last ditch effort after all efforts have been made to find the deer. The ones that are tough are the high front shoulder hits or neck hits, in other words they are still alive but leave an incredible blood trail. I track day or night, preferably night, we go slow as possible and I like to have two or three guys max behind trying to confirm blood. We are very persistent and usually end up 400 or more yards beyond last blood finding a dead deer or more blood. A gentleman from Owego is also now tracking with his dog, back a few years ago we found his young nephew's first buck after coyotes had totally eaten it over night, pic attached.. good hunting all hope no one has to call me! Dec has a hotline for reporting Fisher sightings. I have had a pair of them, or more on my land for the past three years they have put a hurting on the squirrel population, kinda cool sitting in a stand and not having Mr red squirrel chattering at you Keep the reports coming... Side note: my 12yr old licensed tracking dog is ready for her first blood trail if anyone needs her! She is getting slower but that's not a bad thing. Les Funny you say that, he caught the fish right before the final weigh in, could have easily lost that ounce if it sat in a cooler or coughed up an alewife. An alewife one of our fish coughed up was over 5" long. My mag spoons I tried did not get touched. The hot spoon was a gold scorpion ( small ) with glow on one side. Go figure like having one more Frito even though you are full. Lol! Sent from my C771 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
