yeah, I have to weigh my options here. I will not be a regular on Lake O..I hope to make it out 2-3 times a year. I can use that $300 to buy a couple decent trolling rods.

Was just checking bass pro for the phone everyone seems to like. I noticed the flouroclear line. Anyone tested this out yet? Will most likely b picking up a 2000yd roll cause will have to fill 4 30a reels with something. Was thinking about going with ande and then pitting on 100 yards of fluorocarbon as a leader though. Which does everyone prefer? Spooling up entire spool with one line or backing with one and using a leader?

What are the best out there as far as ease of use? What would I use for lake o compared to other lakes for walleye fishing? I am sure there are different tension settings?

This is probably a simple question but I have no idea why the fleas stick to a smaller diameter line and not to a larger diameter line? Also, does anyone use the fused lines like Berkley Crystal Fusion or Fireline?

I have fished the Great Sacandaga all my life. Predominatly walleye and Record Northern Pike. I have been on Lake O fishing for Salmon and browns but was many years ago as a kid. I have been wanting to get back to Lake O and start fishing it i nthe near future. This past fall I picked up a Starcraft Islander 221V out in Akron NY off of Lake Erie. She is alittle older (1991) but she is in fine shape. I also picked up a nice 15HP Johnson Kicker. Luckily the Islander had been decked out with torpedos, a kicker bracket, two Side Planer wheels etc. I have also been lucky enough to have been given two electric Cannon downriggers from a very good family friend that has since retired from Great Lakes fishing. I will get these in a few weeks.. I have lots to do to be ready t ofish the Big O though, need to update the older eagle depthfinder and basically outfit myself with new rod/reel trolling combos and basically every kind of lure! Urgh! Its a bit overwhelming coming from being predominatly a walleye angler my entire life. Learning allot from this great board though! Thanks to everyone!

Dang, a couple hundred more that is for sure.. Dont know if I can swing it. can get the Elite 7 for under $600.. I would just like to know what the difference is between the standard Elite 7 and the HDI version other than the downscan image that you get?? performance? Resolution?

Are the Browns hitting in the Fair Haven State Park area April/May? Just curious. Looking into things for next year and we can pull the islander with the RV..would be perfect. I dont think that Fairhaven has docks do they?
