    I sold all of the ones I had. The ones on the eppinger I believe are different than the originals. I would assume that some other company made the vintage ones and eppinger bought them out and started producing them. As always, changes were probably made. Can anyone confirm this?

    Organized some gear, bought some new leadcore rods, sold some gear on here. Thats about all i've had time for and going crazier by the moment. Best part is, with the work load coming up I'll be lucky if I can even enjoy the open water. Gotta love salary jobs that they take as an excuse to dump as much as possible on you - what does 40 hours mean again?

    What releases does everyone plan on using with these? I've heard if you shouldnt attach anything to the tail hole on fish weights - they are supposed to track better if you have a release attached on the actual downrigger cable instead.

    Might be interested - sick of 10 ft leaders with rookies on the boat. Do these get as deep as mag dipseys?

    I looked into getting a kicker for my 25ft boat that weights in at a smidge under 5,000lbs unloaded. Usually I put around 800 miles a year on the boat running to spots, trolling, and river cruises. Even at 2 mpg, the cost savings just didnt add up. So other than a backup if you main engine fails, does it really make sense to run one on a larger boat?

    Do you have any pictures of the crazy setup mentioned above using Walker divers?

    Yeah Im hoping that there is some trade in. Once I started thinking about it, my X4D display would be useless for resale. Someone looking to upgrade would have to buy an X4D probe and would still be without surface speed. Regardless of what the trade in program is (maybe $100 off or something), I will have spent $1000 on the setup in a span of 12 months.

    With back to back new units, I think they should have a trade in on the display....just saying.

    Just post the pictures here - you will get a lot more business that way rather than making people jump through hoops to see a photo.

    The ducer had the paddle wheel on it for the x4d. Ducers should all be the same. So it should be a direct swap of the displays and the display units and that's it.

    Why do you say you would need a new probe if you already have the X4D? When I talked to fishhawk, they said a direct swap of the display units work for both probes. If you have an X4 probe, it just wouldnt display the depth on the display so therefore a X4D probe would display everything.

    Just confirmed with Fish Hawk. There display is a direct swap in if you have the newer X4 or X4D probe and ducer. If you have an X4 probe, it just wont show the depth. Price point is going to be $350 for the display unit by itself. I just wish they would offer some upgrade package/trade in for people who just dropped nearly $700 for the X4D package in the last year.

    Everything else is the same. If you want the depth though, I think the probe is different. The problem I see is, would someone even want to buy just an X4D display? If not, then its going to be a full $300 to upgrade.
