    Y'all can move to Alabama Bag Limit Buck: 1 per day. 3 per year. Unantlered: 1 per day (in addition to a buck). No annual limit. No spotted fawns! Season starts October and runs through end of January

    Matt when not many hunt and very few doe are killed the first 2 weeks they will realize it's a flawed plan.....of course it is the NYS DEC so they could get hit by a Mack truck and not realize they have been struck Again I understand those that choose to hunt doe the first two weeks and don't begrudge anyone who does. I'll wait till I gave the prospect of killing a buck Oct 1 is to damn early to start withYou guys are falling right in line with what they want .....so get used to not hunting buck till the 15th and no muzzleloader buck hunting Some times you need to sacrifice for the greater good Good luck to those that decide to hunt I understand your point For me I'm putting my foot down and refuse to jack step to the DEC

    Very nice.....I would worry about guesstimating wrong on the 50" After packing out a moose it makes you think before you shoot another

    Yep the late muzzleloader season is really the big kick in the nuts.I won't be here for gun opener (wedding to attend in Fl.) I'll hunt somewhere I can kill a buck late muzzleloader season

    I shoot that load out of 2 different firearms in Savage striker bolt action pistol with a 14" barrel and A custom Remington LVSF with a 22" barrel 1/9.5 twist barrel. I have not chronographed the Savage but the Remington is shooting 2950 fps

    Should be game time tomorrow but I won't hunt till the 15th The bumbling DEC strikes again and their not well thought out plan for a larger doe harvest will be counter productive( I don't believe we need a larger doe harvest but money talks and the insurance lobby has the dec's ear not the sportsmen) Good luck to those heading out early

    If you hand load you won't do better than 44-45 gr R-15 and 120gr Nosler ballistic tip or a 120 gr Barnes TTSX

    A 7mm-08 recoils more than a 25-06 but not enough to be a deal breaker. Forget about the Creedmor unless you handload now 25-06 is not a barrel burner,and I alway laugh when someone mentions that a particular chambering is a "barrel burner" 99.9 % of the guys who worry about it don't shoot enough and will never get close to burning out a barrel in their life time. If you don't hand load forget about the .257 Weatherby it will cost you a small fortune to shoot factory ammo and a deer won't know if he been killed with a 25-06 or a 257 Roy I have killed with all of the above and for deer now a days I prefer my .22-250 AI with an 8 twist barrel and a 62gr barnes TTSX Pole axes deer flat out.
