We hunt them a lot down here in DE. While I used to be against the jump shooting, after hunting them for years with thousands of decoys, calls etc and very little success I only jump shoot them now. Amish planer boards

It may be overkill and these pull like a mule, and I am not saying these boards can't flip over as I am sure in the right conditions anything can happen, but I use these triple board planers made by Bloody Point Tackle. The overall bigger size/weight and extra board help make these very stable even in very rough conditions. I mostly fish in the Chesapeake Bay and in the ocean along the DE and MD coast with these for stripers. We need the 3 board planers to pull the heavy umbrellas and parachutes, but they do work fine for lake trolling as well. They are made of yellow pine and the longest board is 35" long. -

I did the same thing as JD for my Chesapeake Bay Boards down here. 1-1/2" PVC with 1-1/2" wooden dowel the length of the pvc. Been using it for 3 years and it works great. Dave

Well I haven't made it up to the lake yet this year. I just bought a new boat and am in the process of outfitting it for fishing down here in DE and trolling the lake. And my wife is due any day now with our 1st child so I would get in trouble if I was stuck up in NY when the baby came, BUT I have been getting some fishing in. The DE bay has been hit and miss for stripers this spring, but myself and some friends have put in some time and caught some nice fish. Including a 43#'er the biggest ever on my little boat (now the old boat) Hopefully I will make it up in late July and August for some kings! -
Haha what do you mean you're sick of catching too many fish? Lol good luck on the trout hope you find some!

Looking for a used manual downrigger to get started trolling with my own boat up on the big lake. Already have one so I just need 1 for now. I don't care what brand, anything in decent shape with an accurate line counter. Looking to spend less than $100 for the rigger, but then will also need it shipped (live in Delaware) so I will pay whatever the shipping cost would be. Thank you guys in advance! Dave

Never fished the Spring season for browns on LO. Always fish the summer for kings, lakers and browns. I usually fish out of Henderson Harbor, can you guys point me in the right direction of where to start trolling as well as what water depths to target in the Spring? Thank you guys in advance for any info! Can't wait to get back up to LO and do I some fishing

Hello everyone. My names Dave and I actually live in Delaware and do a lot of saltwater fishing in DE and Maryland, but I come up to fish Lake O out of Henderson Harbor atleast once or twice a summer. Looking forward to reading all the reports as well as posting my own from time to time. Good luck to everyone this season. I know it's just warming up enough down here to start freshwater fishing and I bet you guys are chomping at the bit to get the boats in the water to start trolling.
