  3. Unfortunately when Penn Yan (I am sure other places too) gets heavy rains, sewage is released into the waterways, they do not have the capacity to handle all the water at once.
  4. Within the last two days, the DEC came back with nets to collect bait fish. They verified what they thought, an abundance of bait fish (alwifes). The lakers are gorging on bait fish. The issue they now have to figure out is what happened to the perch. Alewives are known to feed aggressively on the fry of yellow perch and lake trout.
  5. I did not read it, a family member of mine lived it second hand (and saw the fish).
  6. The State was out on Seneca with gill nets about a month ago and were bringing in a large number of large fish with full stomachs. They were saying there are more bait fish this year than they have seen in over a decade.

  11. I learned the hook sizes and numbers from you Les!
  12. I, like Sk8man, also use MUSTAD SALMON SIWASH HOOKS 9510XXXS-SS. I use 2/0 for standard size spoons, 3/0 for magnum size spoons, and 1/0 for sutton and Michigan Stingers. When I use trebles, I use Eagle Claw 2X size 1/0 for standard size spoons and 2/0 for magnums.
  13. I would ask if the town has any type of Tree Ordinance. Your tree seems more like it was topped not trimmed. Topping a tree like this creates a situation for the tree to become diseased, open to decay, and/or open to bugs. Sometimes municipalities allow this to happen so you will then have to apply for a tree removal permit. The good municipalities will work with you.
