  10. My buddy has gotten all crazy to catch pike on a fly... He going to head up to my cottage for a visit. I was wondering where a good starting point would be for pike in the Black River Bay, Chaumont, Henderson area. What kind of water to look for? Any tips are greatly appreciated.
  11. I have 3 long sleeve button down shirts for sale. 2 are Columbia, 1 Baleaf, all nylon for feeling cooler in the summer. Barely used, no stains. Size Medium, but they are big. They fit more like a Large. I'm 5'8" and 185 pounds with an athletic build and they are roomy. These are $40 shirts brand new. Asking $60 for all 3, shipped to your door. I got bit by a tick in June last year and spent the summer on doxycycline which causes sensitivity to the sun. I no longer need these shirts and only wore them a handful of times.
  12. I use a loop as well. Easy to change to other flies. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  16. We went out of Stony Creek (near Henderson) Memorial Sunday. Started south towards drown island looking for Browns. Nothing. Heard buddies on the radio out near the finger picking up fish, headed that way... slowed in around 90 fow, found 44 degrees down about 50. Started setting and a rigger popped. First King of the season (small, teenager, released). My brother set the rigger again. While continuing setting the spread, same rigger goes again. Broke off, drag to tight, think it was another king. We were fishing 10# leaders. My buddies in 2 other boats picked up Browns and kings, and maybe a steelie. 21. The last week of August has opened up. Aug 25-Sept 1 for $850. I'll even cut a deal if you want to stay through Labor Day @ $1000. Salmon will be loaded in the Trench and stacked in front of Sandy Pond, both locations can be reached with a 15 minute trailer to the launch.
  22. If you already have reels, an inexpensive way to go is Shimano TDR rods. They're $29.99 on FishUSA. I believe they come in 9'6" add twilli tips and you're good.
  23. I bought a TD 2 seasons ago and it does help getting you basic info, temps, and terminal depth. It will help you figure out blowback compared to your counter. Last season I got a X4D and am, of course, happy with it. But I wanted to let you know that I still use my TD. So it’s not money wasted. I send it down my dipsy wire before I crank them in so I can get general depth for wire out and take notes. I’ve also sent it down my copper. This winter I picked up riggers for my gunwales and with use the TD to figure out depth with wingers and blowback, so it still comes in handy. Lastly, there’s a member selling a TD in the classifieds. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
