  4. Got it. Was up above the Reservoir. Had a blast. Btw... did my pics come through? Can’t see them on my app. Also, always good to find another LOUer down in these parts!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  6. Didn’t know where to post this. Went to a Catskill Stream and floated some eggs sacs made from a salmon eggs from a late summer hen. Small trout, but had a blast. 2 browns, 9 rainbows and lots of fun!
  7. That’s kinda where my comment was trying to go Matt. You just put it more straight forward! Lol! Totally agree. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. I would spool your reels with wire. Cuts the water well and achieves better depth. When I first started with divers, a mentor told me to use wire... So split a 1000’ spool on 2 reels and backed it with 40# mono, it worked well until a tangle left me with under 225’ of wire on one. Broke off, lost everything, dipsy, flasher, fly. [emoji30] Since, I’ve spooled all 1000’ on my reels. A bit more expensive but, it’s better to be able to trim pigtails and kinks in the end when you have 1000 on the reel. IMHO from my short experience trolling deep Water. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. What size? Setting? Speed? Size wire? It all depends. You kinda have to test it out for your boat and style. For me with magnum dipsys,30# 7-strand, at 2.3ish over ground.... normally run 1.5 setting, 200’ out gives approximately 80’ down. 300’ about 110’. Measurements done a couple times with a fishhawk TD this past season. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Cool. Thanks. Should’ve said I’ll be on the east end. Have white, peach, and pink mesh
  11. Headed up for some steelhead fishing in a couple weeks. How big do you make your spawn sacs? Should I have a range of sizes? Any tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  12. Great job! I'll never forget my first, as mentioned by others. And beware, my obsession is border line a problem. Seriously, like I need to go to meetings! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Welcome. Lots of info on this site to sift through. And don't be afraid to ask questions, lots of great people on this site that love fishing and sharing advice. Also, what's your location? It'll help for sharing places to get your line wet. Happy you're here. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. Nice Clark! Always nice to get family out on the boat, even better to get them some nice fish!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Yes. Navionics. Totally worth the year subscription for your phone. If you zoom in the contours get crazy detailed. I love it. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  16. Headed out of Stony this morning and hit the Trench... large rollers on the way out. Ended up landing one. 2 came off. One broke the leader, one was user error. A good amount of short hits that came off. Flasher/Fly bite. Both riggers and dipsys got action. Salmon seemed to be hanging out of temperature. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. A lot of us use channel 68. There wasn't much chatter today, but with more guys out for the weekend, you should hear some banter. Winds look good for the weekend too. Stony Creek launch is a shorter run to the deeper Trench (closer to Stony lighthouse) than Henderson, but pick your poison and have fun. The line in the pic is the rough run of the Trench. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14

  19. I think that's a good idea. I only run two corner riggers on my boat. If your set up will be easier and maybe a little quicker, then I think it would help a lot. Then run your dipsys out the sides and your still running the same number of rods, with different presentations for the fish. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. JTowne, as you go forward with the dipsys, you can still run your 2 corner riggers and 1 dipsy per side on a 1.5 or more setting, you should be ok, until you get the hang of it, then add in your boom riggers back into the game. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Yes, you should add dipsys to your spread. We've had days that our riggers never fired and dipsys took multiple hits. They do present differently, more like a long line with a noisy attractor on the end. I use the magnum size on wire in my spread. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Where do you have more experience? If it's a wash... what day? I should be out Thursday in the Trench and will report, good or bad. Not sure if it helps or not. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. Click on the website, go to menu and click on rules. That should clear things up. Weigh in is a Bedford Creek Marina. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  24. We fished North of the Finger this morning. Picked up 1 mature on our copper after a laker on a rigger. Then another laker. when picking up lines to move found out we were towing a small laker. Went back up, had a tangle and then picked up 2 more lakers. One on the copper, thought it was a salmon, reeled in 450 feet of line for a jumbo laker! Hahahaha. 6 for 6.
