  1. I was there last spring and did OK. Had the best luck casting toward an exposed rock shoal with a really old duck blind on it. smallie central in there. Also did ok fishing a very small channel marked with little bouys. this was just past that shoal on the southern end I think. Trolled around that point and picked up a few LMB. No pike though, and this was in June. Things might be totally different there now. Everything was taken on spinners but during this time I'd probably throw weedless rigged worms with no weight shallow and bucktails with a 4-6" paddletail grub. I'd fish real slow too. I've had a terrible season this year out of Sackets but hopefully Chippewa produces for you.

  4. After a stop at henchens for some buck tails, I fished big shoal, six mile pt, lime barrel, gull island. Whites bay, snowshoe bay and Campbell shoal. Not even a bite. Threw bay rats, buck tails, rattletraps, storm minnows, drop shot and Texas rigged plastics, mepps and everything else I had along......nada. Had one rock bass chasing on Campbell and that was it. Talked to two guys prefishing a tourney out of Kingston and they weren't doing much either. Said the few fish they got were puking baitfish and they're suspended. My fish finder showed the same thing. They picked up 3 smallies before bugging out. Saw lots of bass boats around Henderson but they were moving positions just as much as I was so I assume they weren't doing much either. What the crap is going on? I've never struggled this much to catch bass even back home in PA!!! Is anyone doing anything?? Neighbors at camp seem to be doing as poorly as me. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Try mepps #5 spinners. Tickle the tops of the weeds. Lake of the isles is good for bass, try a Texas rigged 7" worm or 4" wacky rigged senkos. Buck tail jig with a tube would be good too in 1/2 to 5/8oz. That's a nice spot up there you outta do ok. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Went to Chaumont today. Pretty dismal day. Fished cherry island, crab island, top of guffin bay, herrick shoal and Johnson shoal. Picked up two smallies and one LMB. Black buck tail with orange tube and an orange bay rat. Managed to tangle the front fish finders transducer cable in the trolling motor and cut it in half, then broke the windshield on the boat..... Maybe tomorrow will be a smoother day. Thinking about poking around Henderson for awhile. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. well thats good. I caught a pig smallie trolling for wallies few weeks ago but that was it. Couple LMB fishing the marsh right by camp. I'm not a super big fan of trolling, but my camp neighbor only trolls in his little 14' alum boat. never casts at all. I was starting to think I was an idiot for fishing a texas rig and mepps up there. Fished Wellesley Island last summer and had several 100+ fish days between 3 guys.....Hit black lake too the other week and I got 2 small LMB other two guys skunked. Guys at the ramp had worse luck than me. Gotta do something soon or I'm selling everything and learning how to golf.
  8. Any updates? How's everyone making out? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Fished the trench yesterday.....nada Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. haven't heard anything in the past week, but prior days seems nobody's been doing much. Everyone I've talked to said the same thing; slow start, cold long winter and a weird spring....
  11. go right to a fifth wheel, don't even mess around. I had 3 TT before I went fifth wheel, they tow so much better and have a ton more space. I'm selling mine actually if you're interested. Stumbled on a cabin and a great price so won't be using the camper anymore. 2013 Forest River Salem 24 RLS .$15,500
  12. When you gonna stop by?? I'll need some help taking the dock out this fall if you're bored lol. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I gotta give a holler to Fleettracker for helping me get properly setup for the new area. and also from all the help and info on this site. I'll update photos as I get them.
  14. Thought I'd share a few photos of my new camp. Been a work in progress since April but I think it's just about there.
  15. anyone doing anything on bass around BRB & Chaumont? Heading to camp with some friends today. We haven't done well at all on bass. Few bigmouths and hammer handle pike, not a single smallie yet.
  16. Anyone ever try using carp on a meat rig? Buddy likes to bowfish thought that might be a good use for the carp he shoots.
  17. has it come back down? I'll be up late tonight and I'll post back
  18. rained real hard early tuesday morning. Water was over my dock in Dexter Marsh
  19. it was really high on tuesday morning when i left camp. water was over my dock. Had the boat cranked as high as the lift would go and the water was rocking it a bit. hope it dropped a little, i've been nervous.
  20. How's everyone making out fishing BRB, Henderson and Chaumont? We only picked up a few LMB and not a single smallie yet. Fished mostly spinners the last two days. The wind on Sunday made it tough to fish a worm without anchoring. Seems roostertails outperformed mepps 4:1 for us. White was the hot color. Then black. Last weekend in Henderson, I saw a bunch of smallies but they looked to still be on their nests and wouldn't hit anything. My camp neighbors haven't done well yet either. Are things slow to start? I think we had late ice, then a warm dry May and a wet June so far, maybe the unusual spring has them turning on late? How'd the tournaments do this past weekend? I'll be back at it later this week and post how I make out. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Hey pap, yep, definitely a baby wallie. It was about 8". Shoulda got a pic. Caught it up in the marsh. I'm at camp for a few more days. My buddies had to go home so I'm flying solo. Holler if you wanna fish, I already packed up my boat but won't take long to undo it. Fished again this am for 2 hours, caught another 13 fish. Buddy's kid caught a decent largemouth and a 30" pike. I got a handful of perch and a small pike. Things may be looking up Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Followed FleetTracker out today chasing salmon, no luck with that unfortunately. But it was a beautiful morning. Came back regrouped and fished a few hours before dark in dexter marsh. Picked up a bunch of medium-small pike, a pile of white perch, pickerel and a baby walleye. Everything hit roostertails, they didn't want mepps today. Dark colors worked best. None of my neighbors caught any bass today. Ended the day with 21 fish. Only got one picture, all released unharmed. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
