  4. The Raymarine EV-100, which was pretty much maxed out on my hyd steering ram, was constantly pumping on my boat trolling into or in the trough of anything bigger than 2 footers. It did work great, though not sure what the longevity of the pump is going to be under my conditions. Although not sure what the draw rate was, I would not use that pump with a kicker without an alternator.
  5. Todd, you would still need a drive system for that unit. I've done a little research into mating a system like the Octopus Type S mechanical drive (type that attaches to cable-drive steering wheel) and Raymarine EV units, and it seems like a definite possibility. Cabling and programming needed for this, I have no clue, but seems possible.
  6. Good luck with whatever route you decide! Because I fish solo or with my wife and inexperienced buddies often, installing autopilot for this past season has improved my fishing experience and catch rate tremendously. Unless you have a dedicated, experienced wheel-man, AP is a great tool to have. I know we fish the same waters quite often, if you want to hop aboard and give mine a try early next season, you are more than welcome.
  7. Todd, what do you have for electronics on the boat now? Lowrance makes an AP for cable steered outboards, but needs a newer HDS MFD for a head unit. Even if you dont have lowrance electronics now, it may be cheaper to add in a smaller HDS unit and buy the cable-steered lowrance AP, than to upgrade to hydraulic steering and a hydraulic AP. https://www.starmarinedepot.com/lowrance-outboard-pilot-cable-steer-pack.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiArYDQBRDoARIsAMR8s_QJVFLkrZoiBgr1L842gIuNNinChBT_3ehNjboF5E1hp5CgCRb4274aAl_TEALw_wcB I run the Raymarine EV-100 on my Wellcraft 220 sportsman and yamaha F200, connected with panther quick-connect rod to a yamaha T9.9, I have hyd steering though. I know some love this system, and some hate it, but it works great for trolling on my boat with the correct settings on the head unit.

Sold / Closed 22 FT WELLCRAFT DUAL CONSOLE

I fish the exact same boat, a 2004 with the same power. Really like the layout, fishes very well. Had 5 guys on board trolling 10 rods for walleye this year on Erie, pull a few rod holders and throw the stern seats in and can go for a day cruise with 7 adults. Good luck with the sale, price is very good for a clean and well-kept rig.

  12. Fished the trench 0730-1030. Boated two matures at the northern end. Lost one and broke another off at the southern end, 95 fow 85 down. Many knock offs. Lake was a lot calmer this morning than yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I like longer dipsey leads typically 10-12', but have had 6' leaders from dipsey to flasher catch fish before. Lake was rolling today. Made one pass with the waves from 1100-1230 after perch fishing this morning. . Picked up one 25 ish lber, 220 dipsey meat market/ pro am. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Mountain dew dewing well tonight... get it?? Also brought in a nice laker on a 10" md crush sd/ 5" minion fly Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  17. Thanks for the report. Was planning on hitting the trench/finger this morning, but slept in and got the bow tuned in instead. Plan on hitting it hard next weekend. Should be a calm week and temps should set up nicely. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Well nice work! Im usually out most weekends and a few weeknights, Boat name BluTooth on Channel 68 if you keep your radio on. Spoons had been hot for me all summer on our end of the lake until last week, now I cant move a spoon rod, mostly flasher fly bite and meat has been taking a few too. 19. Great king! Way to go! I hit the lanes west of galloo this afternoon. Fished lines in from 4-7, went 2 for 4, biggest was maybe 12 lbs. missed one really good rip, seemed like a mature. Had no temps at all. Fished 110-130 down over 140-160 and just kept covering water. Mosie, any temps to speak of? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. There were some kings around the finger friday and saturday last week. See my report from earlier this week. Not sure what the weather this week did to them.
  21. Looks like a repeat of last year's weather. My crew and I will be rolling into town on Thurs, really pumped! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Forgot to mention, fleas were terrible on the diver wires. If left in the water for more than 10 minutes, the last 8-10 feet above the dipsey was just packed with fleas Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. Henderson Finger 7/21-7/22 7/21 Left sackets at 0530, started setting lines by 0630. Started near the mountain and trolled into the waves towards west in 140-150 FOW. Decent action on 18-22 lb kings and a few lakers from 0830 to 1030. Action died after that. Hits on meat, FF, and spoons. Lost a screamer on a black/green pro king spoon on 87 foot rigger over 135. Pretty sure he wouldve been our biggest, he ripped out to 400 feet on the line counter before I could even gain any line. Lost him shortly after that. 220 and 242 mag wire dipsey on No. 2 setting and 100 and 87 foot riggers took all the shots. 7/22 Same game plan as day before. Lost two really good rips on meat and FF divers out 200 and 220. Broke another good fish on same black/green pk spoon. Ended up landing a decent 19lber and a 5lb jack on moonshine bad toad 88 rigger. Landed a few nice lakers too. Had at least a dozen rigger knockoffs that never came tight on a meat market paddle/ pro am fly. Headed back in around 1100. All in all, pretty decent weekend on the eastern side. Wish we couldve boated a few more of the hookups we had on saturday, but thats kings for ya I guess.
  24. Roll call for this weekend, anyone heading out? Sat-Sun looks good. Off work Friday, but storms look pretty likely. BluTooth on Channel 68 if anyone wants to share intel. Itching for some silvers, havent been on the lake in almost 3 weeks.
  25. I grew up fishing lake erie walleyes out of Erie PA, and still fish them a few times a year. From mid june through sept, 5 color with bagleys, reef runners clean, and dipseys with willow harnesses and spoons are all we use, and typically pull a 3 man limit ( 6 a person) by noon. Divers are definitely not a waste of time there. Tactics are a wholeeeee lot different from our part of ontario though for sure.
