  1. If its flat calm, you can run em really light. If its rough, gotta crank em down. Always have a small phillips driver in the stern cupholder for adjustments. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. All trial and error. I dont mind a false release every so often, gives me a chance to check for debris. I like em light, but dont want every surge to trip them. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  4. Good idea for a thread! For me, the bubba blade pliers I got this year were a big hit. https://www.bubbablade.com/tools/fishingpliers/7.5-fishing-pliers/1108103.html#start=1 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Good point rookie! Didnt really think about that. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. After fishing okuma convectors (w/ upgraded drags) and saltists side by side, I would def say the saltist is a superior reel, but man I hate that line counter positioning! Convectors if you wanna stay under $100, saltist if not. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Gotcha. Yes, the garmin is for you. I believe the new reactor 40 has replaced the tr-1. Not sure of any other kicker ap on the market that does throttle and steering control Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

You can go two routes: Garmin Tr1 for just the kicker, or install an ap for your main and link it to the kicker. Whats your engine setup? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. How much stretch do you need? I have a pair if Outdoor Researchs that I wear in deep snow or rain that I really like. No problem being tight, but they dont stretch at all. Cinch with a bucket around the boot sole and a web strap around the calf https://www.rei.com/product/852793/outdoor-research-rocky-mountain-high-gaiters-mens Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. In my opinion, yes. But only if you stand hunt in cold weather often. I’ve hunted the fanatic bibs, jacket, and vest since 2015 and love it for stand sits below 30 degrees or so. Any warmer than that, or if moving, too hot. The vest is a really great mid-weather outer layer with a lot of the features of the jacket. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I started shooting ramcat diamondbacks last year and really like them. I think the concave ferrule and helical blades help flight a lot. Plus they have the added bonus of the backside of the blade sharpened so they cut on the way out if you dont get a pass through. Muzzy trocar have helical blades as well and seem to be a great head. Definitely interested in those new havalon wasps that came out this year as well. I’m a bit of a broadhead whore... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  19. I installed the ev100 two or three years ago and i followed the thread in this link to a tee. Worked out great. Just takes about 30 minutes of setup and some hoses and fitting. 21. I run okuma glt’s 10’6” dipsey rods for my outside divers. They are longer than a horse’s drain, not sure I’d ever want anything longer Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Where are you located? Still have the coated cable? I have one on my boat but like to buy for spare parts Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Thanks guys! Fishin PA, our reports are way too similar! Thats funny. Makes me feel like we werent the only slow ones out there. Long gaps in bites sometimes for sure. Just got pushed to #14 on the LOC, guessing someone got dq’d? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Trailered the boat from Pittsburgh to Wilson on thursday to get in on some LOC King action. I had only fished the bar one day a few years ago, so we were going in pretty blind. Thurs afternoon launched out of the Fort and fished the bar from 3pm to dark. Had spoons, FF, and meat all through the column in 60-180 fow, and couldnt move a rod. Friday, after some intel we got Thurs night, launched from Olcott in the dark at 5 am, went east to the power plant, and went 10-13 on kings in 60-120 fow. All spoons. 150 copper, ten color, riggers, and divers all went. Sat, launched even earlier at 430, headed east again. Moved a rod or two on small kings early, but marks were gone from the day before. Saw a lotta big charters and tourney boats heading further east, so we made the move. Wayy slow again, only picked up 7 king bites between 730 am and 5 pm, but they were all good ones. All spoons, all but one on riggers. Ended up with one 19 lb 10 oz and one 20 lb 12 oz, which got us at #15 on the board. Overall, great trip. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
