  1. x2 on Wellcraft. I would look hard at any 232 Coastal's that may be on the market. I wanted a dual console, and went with the Wellcraft 220 Sportsman, and dont think I could get a better trailerable big water boat for what I wanted. I too have an F200 and a T9.9 kicker. Does everything I need it to and more, just no cuddy. I currently tow with a toyota tundra (5.7L, 4.30 rear end), and not sure I would want to put much more boat behind it. Wellcrafts run heavy.
  2. The Prop-Healer in New Haven reworked and re-hubbed a SS prop for me a few years ago. Not sure if he is still open. Great work and very reasonable.
  3. Bought my current boat in Atlantic City New Jersey on Halloween 2015. Putted around the marina, wrote a check, put her on the trailer and drove her home. Price was right though and I knew there were likely going to be issues with the early 2000s yamaha four stroke (which finally reared their ugly head this year). If the price is right and you are prepared for possible costly repairs, send it! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Ive had a pair of grundens petrus that i’ve worn religiously for the past five years. Have served me very well and def got my money out of them. Got a new set of simms challengers for this year that im excited to try out. We shall see. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Wire on all four dipseys. Inside mags 9’ rods. Outside regular size dipsey 10.5’ rod. This is for fishing down to 100’ or so and not too bad of currents. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. We boated a pile of kings last may off the bar with bayrats xld’s on 5color stealthcore. Deployed it on a whim and it was on fire. Will be running it again this year. And the sticks held up great. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. Great deal for someone starting out on Lake O! I have more convectors now than I know what to do with, but man I wish I wouldve ran across a deal like this 5 or 6 years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. Night force is out of my price range. I have a variety of vortex scopes from $-$$$ and they make good glass. For the money though, I really think Leupold is the best bang for your buck. On my latest rifle build, I got a vx-3i 4.5-14x50 cds, and by far the best low-light glass that I own. Cant really explain it, but seems to gather much more light than my vortex’s. Moving forward, I cant see buying anything else but Leupold, and that says a lot considering I get 40% off vortex (wife was former active-duty). Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  10. Where do you plan to fish out of?
  11. I started king fishing with my wife as well when we moved to NY in 2015. Start out with two riggers and two dipseys and go from there. I hate to say it, because I dont know how your wife handles a boat, but autopilot saved our marriage lol. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. Got it, thanks! Are you barrier coating prior to re-bottom painting? What kinda pressures were you running on your machine? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Looks great! Care to share what you are using to blast the bottom paint off? Looks like the 40lb harbor freight set up. I need a bottom paint removal and repaint job bad, would really like some intel on hows your taking it off, and what you're putting back on. Looks like we had similar bottom paint situations.
  14. I have on my t9.9 when my trailer was having brake issues and our lauches got flooded. Not a big deal really. Used an oil pump. Didnt spill a drop. Now lower unit oil on the other hand, that would be a different story.... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. No, not dipseys, but run 30, 40, and 50 jets routinely on boards. Just cant get too deep with them Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Nice fish and thanks for the report! Thats a brown though. Square tail (not forked) and mouth extending past rear of eye give it away. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. lol but really.. https://www.ciscofishingsystemsltd.com/shop/cup-holder-7458
  18. Those appear to be well nuts. Im not a big fan of them because you really can never see whats going on and trusting they wont pull through. Can you hole drill out for a small access port to get fender washers in? Thats what I have to do for backer plates for my riggers and fender washers for the outside row of bolts for my tracks. Totally different setup in a glass boat, but you get the idea. Can hardle even notice screw in hatch covers. Dont have a great photo but this may help Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Been using winchester long beard XR 3.5” #5 from my mberg 835 the past two seasons with great success. Pattern great out to about 50 or so, never killed a bird outside of 40 though. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Another vote for grundies. This pair going on five seasons. Just hose em off when they get too smelly Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Not an inline. Wired to a fuse panel right near the battery. So those wire sizes were actually from fuse panel to rigger outlets, my bad. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. I ran 10/2 to my close rigger outlet and 8 AWG to my far rigger outlet(10' and 20' runs respectively from battery). These were for cannon mag10 STX's, and yes the wiring was much lighter (prob 14) on the downrigger side of the plug. No issues in 5 years.
  23. I also worked for OBG as an engineer for a few years (2016-2017), cant say enough good things about them. Great outfit to work for.
  24. Yes running the AO plastic boards on GL 3’ Planer plus. I do use snubbers at the boards but no issues. Boards pull hard, make sure bases are secure Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
