  1. Because you don't put a fish over your head and throw it as hard as you can against the water surface with the intent of keeping it alive...wasn't just bass either. Was pike, pickeral, bass... Anything that wasn't sunfish perch or crappy they were killing... Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Its one thing to eat them another to let them rot in Dean's Cove weekend after weekend. [emoji22] Good Luck this season Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Leave the Bass on Cayuga alone... Guys smashing them off the water because there not getting crappy... Bass tourney guys killing close to a 100 a day last year on their smaller tourneys... Plus the big bass tourney they had... I know its c&r but they are hit hard all summer long just to be left dead floating in Dean's cove... Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. What's the rulesbon live bait for tribs. I tried to look it up but couldn't find anything specific to minnows, worms, or spikes. Just rigging and net regulations. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Dec website has a list of them if I remember correctly. Type finger lakes pfr (public fishing rights). Should list by county. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I know. Many guys don't get fish and move on quick. I've seen a few get mad they can't catch anything standing right next to me. All I can say is... Try new stuff... If they never seen it before, they tend to try it. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Yeah Joe is pretty much the reason I started getting more then one a day. Haven't seen him in a while. Figure he is busy or he found a better bite. Sk8 knows the spot. But personally unless you live 20 mins or less away, I wouldn't waste the gas money. Get skunked more often then not and I usually give it a shot when I get groceries. Two birds with one stone. Plus the girl friend can't get mad at me as much when I have to go get stuff Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Right where we fished last year of course Im land bound tho for a week at least. Haven't caught any since Saturday and the cooler is 3 weeks of fishing. Just add a few fish each day till I get enough for dinner and a bag to freezer. I usually hit it up twice a day. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. The white stuff is hard and its kinda like a blister. Looks slimy but really isn't and the fish is very active. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Thought it was sand... Didn't look like any disease I seen on Dec page. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. I would be looking for schooling fish. Hard to find perch any other way. I haven't had one and just looking into as a option, and as you said mostly for structure to cast towards or drift over. What is "Traditional" sonar? I know down scan and side scan. Just figured traditional was the same as down scan. Never put trust into them when I was a kid. Probably just didn't know how to use them right. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Dean's open. North end of Cayuga is not frozen. Water looks low still even after the rain. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Down scan. Finding structure helps but I'm fishing Seneca and seems the perch don't stay in one spot long. Haven't tried perch from a boat on Seneca that much but all the stories I hear about 3 years ago makes me want to go on the hunt... If I get bored... Ill move over to Cayuga. Just wondering if it was worth the money Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. So useless for perch? Because they are on the bottom mostly? Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Yes Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Lots of craters... Looks like the moon surface! I was just talking with someone about what it would look like in a computer model if drained. No wonder the fish can just disappear it seems! Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. I would try more then one spot. Some real monsters on Cayuga. Problem is they're really not that plentiful anymore. Use to see a lot at Dean's cove sun bathing on the rocks and find them under rocks. Looks for some last year.... Found 1 out probably 100 rocks... Gobies might have something to do with the population. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Deans is Open Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Well I look forward to it. Going to order some. Are they naturally pink? They look blue in the pictures and the live ones I have seen attached to rocks. Maybe the sun and my truck made a mini dinner? Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Lol. We are still baffled how they got there... Girlfriends mom was excited till I told her that's as big as they get![emoji12] Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Not sure how they got on the hood of my truck unless they were attached to my line... Any imations out there? Seems like this would be an excellent bait Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. If you can't get a lot... Get one big one! Lol Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Ill have to try that... Can't wait to get the boat out. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Switching a water pump from a 74 with a crack block to a 69 block. Part numbers look the same, but the pulley wheels are different I think. The outside diameter looks good but when trying to put the pulley wheel on, it barely fit between the mount bolt and pump. Course I tried to stick the old wheel on the new pump.. Found out the hard way the 74s bolt spacing is wider. Outside diameter is the same by eyeball. I know, should go brand new, but I'm trying to solve a different issue the cheap way... 25. Them some fatties. Couldn't get into any today. Sent from my VS425PP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
