Had a good mallard shoot this morning !! Had some pintails and widgeon come in before legal then not 1 after that. Laid off from work now the fun begins!!

Hit the beaver dam again, lots of woodies first light then it slowed down. Buddy got lucky that I shot his crippled duck going down the creek it had some shiny things stuck to its leg !!! Couldn't believe the one wood duck could even fly it only had its pin feathers.

Went to the blind today, had a awesome goose hunt for 4 of them and a teal. Ducks are not around there . Plenty of geese tho.

Hunted a swamp this morning we got permission for last year and what a day . Lots of action woodies, Mallards ,teal and geese. I watched lots of Mallards this morning land then fly away. [emoji848] Look at "sky " look at me (why didn't u shoot them )[emoji23] next weekend.

Had off Thursday , got down to the creek a little late but me and a buddy were able to get a couple birds. Best part is no decoys water was to high to wade.

Hunted the blind today, kinda slow on the ducks . Lots of geese tho can't wait for next weekend's goose opener. Pond was loaded with them .

Went to the creek this morning and hunted a beaver dam with a couple friends. Wood duck action was great with a couple Mallards and a black.

Looking forward to the Western opener this weekend - was hoping to get my "quarantine project boat" out, but not looking like there's gonna be enough water where I hunt... gonna have to paddle again [emoji4]

Northern trip was a blast , yesterday morning my 1 friend hurt his ankle at the ramp and had to go back to camp. So me and Jim headed out . We had good action all morning lots of teal and wood ducks and some gadwall and widgeon. We got our limit of ducks and I got 2 bands.
Today I went out solo to the same spot and just about the same thing . Woodies, teal , a mallard , and another band. Great all around weekend.

Did a night shoot at the lease , messed with tree stands then went down to the blind till dark. I jumped a small flock when walked down got 2. Then a group of 4 come in and didn't leave. I can't believe it's just about over for September.

Took a guy from work to the blind this morning to show him why I do what I do. He said what a experience (he doesn't hunt) Had 2 solo's , a pair and 1 flock come in. Lots of wood ducks and teal flying around .

Went out this morning with a buddy for a couple hours had to pick up at 9 . Got a few . Cold calm morning . Good amount of birds flying around. Going to try the blind tomorrow for mid morning hunt.

Got out tonight for a afternoon shoot . Did pretty good!! Some birds kicking around.
Layouts are good but shooting geese standing up out of a A-frame is to comfortable. The past couple hunts proved to me no need for layouts. Look at tonight's hide . Looks stupid to me . They love it . I still have my layout tho lol. This weekend should be good !

Hunted the field the birds landed in yesterday , pays off to be on the X. Never using a ground blind again . They flared hard yesterday with ground blinds , today we could have grabbed a goose or 2 with the A frame. What a morning !!

We found some birds last night is a corn field . Set-up in the corn this morning and most of them landed in the field before us . Not much u can do after that but we pulled some down . Nice cool morning .

This morning was slow . Not much flying at all . Had some birds hitting the field but farmer must have bumped them spreading fertilizer yesterday evening. Only had a 3 pack come in and not make it out. Was great to be out !!

Went down to check on the millet and it looks nice. It came in nice in the cove where I just through it around. but phone died when taking pictures. Hopefully I can find birds for the weekend have to work for the opener. Good luck hope to see some pics !!

Not long and the season will be here. Got down to the blind this morning and put some fine tuning that needed to be done. Raised the roof put another sheet of metal on put camo burlap around it, all new willow branches all around it with brackets to hold them in . It looks mint ! I planted Japanese millet this year and it's coming in nice !!

Took the farmers daughter out this weekend , Saturday morning we had a gobbler hang up at 80 yards and had him around from roost till 1130 but couldn't get him . This morning he was in the same spot but a 3 pack of Jake's were with him . The Jake's pushed him out and the gobbler went silent. The Jake's wouldn't budge. We clawed to the ridge top with the turkey fan in front of us and looked down in the woods. Out about 300 yards away I see them in the field strutting all by themselves. They have to see the fan if I can see them . I did a couple Jake yelps and they must have thought I was the gobbler . They came running into 15 yards. She was pumped up and so was I. I Made myself look like the man when I said to her they see this fan they are going to run right in . Lol now that longbeard wont be getting harassed.
