Hi Great_Laker...
That was a very special PB walleye caught in a gorgeous setting after a long day of fishing. I am so glad that you caught it and kept it to enjoy the memorable day to the fullest. Don't let anyone's comments detract from your great day by saying you should have released it, big eyes aren't good eating, etc.. Special fish, congratulations again!!
I'm not an expert on Owasco by any means but I enjoy fishing it. If you want to target a mixed bag including bass and pike I like trolling sticks and spoons at various depths following the contours and off of points. I troll deep when targeting lakers and shallower for rainbows. Good luck.
We fished out of the Catt yesterday afternoon. Managed to get 3 and lost a good one. Marks were pretty good in 62 to 65 fow. Got the ones that would bite on harnesses.
Some of my best days on Erie have been "rod-in-hand" drifting bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses. Need enough wind to do it... usually 1-2 foot waves.
Great pictures. Impressive bows.
I did get out there Tuesday evening but mainly a recreational boat ride with family. Pulled 2 leadcore lines with spoons for an hour with no hits. No fleas at all!
Went out of the Catt. Caught 5 eyes, 1 short. 1 yellow perch and a bunch of silver bass. Trolling harnesses on leadcore. Wind was out of northeast and waves were bigger than the forecast. Nice evening and sunset.
