  2. I have a 9' medium that I use with a lite bite on Champlain. Like it fine so far.
  3. When calibrating I find it helpful to move the rigger to the side of the boat to get the hawk away from the boat turbulence. I then calibrate the hawk to gps speed never paying attention to the fish hawk paddle wheel speed. w
  4. Michigan Angler has a good how to on blacks and bands
  5. Man how long are you there for ? I think that I want to be your friend.

  7. Leave the poor guy alone, people try to sell stuff here for way to much money all the time. Last week some guy listed two Okuma reels for absolute retail and someone bought them. Pays to do your homework.
  8. There is a really good tutorial on the net if you search slide divers. Well done.
  9. Won't bother if you run your fish finder at 200. Will bother some at low freq.

  13. Just saw a picture on another post of a seth green rig. I thought I knew what it was but I guess not. Just a spool that holds line ? Dose it have a handle to reel with ? Is it like the bandit reels that tuna guys use with green sticks ? I'm curious now. Thanks, Matt
  14. Cheapest and easiest way to slow you boat down is to drag two five gallon buckets with holes drilled in the bottom. Not as cumbersome as you might think.
  15. The bucket of death works wonders . You put a plank to the edge of the bucket, sprinkle some sunflower seeds on top of the water and they go swimming. Sometimes two at a time.
  16. you have a pm
  17. I have found that the suffix has a better sink rate. I think that they claim it's because of a smaller diameter.
  18. When in doubt add a ball bearing swivel. Even then sometimes a tangled mess happens.
  19. My garmin unit is a 77/200 hz . Like I said it doesn't bother all the time but on occasion it dose. I have a single transducer mounting plate on the boat. Space is limited because of the kicker. When it dose bother I switch freq for awhile and then turn it back to the lower freq. Most days it only happens once or twice. no my garmin is not a chirp unit. The people at fishhawk were very nice and responsive to my questions. Good luck, Matt
  20. I sent fishhawk a picture of my transom and they made a suggestion but said it may help. Did't seem worth all the work for may help. Not their fault, the frequencies are just to close.
  21. My fishhawk and garmin unit cross talk at the lower frequencies. The signal comes and goes. Some days it dosen't bother as much as others which I don't understand.
  22. pm sent
  23. Instead of a trolling plate I use to drag two buckets. I liked it better for boat control.
