  2. Thanks Hornet. It's one of those years that every squirrel finds a nut, lol. If you're going to hit it, get out there. Fish moved in tight since last weekend. I stayed at 70 - 80 , was targeting browns with smaller spoons but the kings were so thick you couldn't. Riggers at 50 and 60, and 1 dipsey at 125 - 150. Colder water on bottom, with bait balls. Fish were still silver. Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. It was definitely a crazy morning, good stuff. [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. 9/7 solo this morning dropped 2 browns at the boat fumbling the net. Picked up 1 nice coho, and 2 decent kings. Released a dink Atlantic that hit a break off while wrestling the last king. Best but woopin I ever had. Drove 9 hrs for 3 hrs of caos. Still think I'm crazy? [emoji12] Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Ok looks like I'm running up this afternoon. Better conditions for tomorrow, maybe Saturday. Got the fever. Want to target trout or meat. Can anyone give me a heads up on Mexico conditions? Running solo, should get interesting. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Sorry Doc, I'm not touching that one . lol Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Great intel folks, saw your reports with Chowder over the weekend. Was there Fri to Sun. I run a 16 with cannon cranks and 8.5 balls. For me the cables start singing at 2.5 surface speed. When there quiet the lakers hit, and the salmon like them singing. The dodger pulse is a great indicator. Don't forget to zig zag. The 1st silver will tell you alot.[emoji6] Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Was thinking of running up for a quick set Saturday and Sunday morning. Watching the wind. Would like to get a spoon set out for steelhead and coho's. I'd appreciate a go no go for launch. Looks iffy Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. I totally agree Lucky, that's why not many here will acknowledge me. So let me say this to all who read this. To the weekend warrior's who think, " if he can do it, so can I ", Safety..Safety. ..Safety! I feel horrible for all the lost souls. Thought, and talked about it all weekend. I've been all over, and do all my homework. BUT.....no matter how prepared you may think you are, no one is ever ready for catastrophe. I totally respect you skippers out there. 16. Jackets are mandatory on the O in my rig. No matter what the condition. Boat is a battle axe but I know her limits. Everyone shakes their head when I'm at 140 with the fleet. But the 1st sign of over 3'rollers, Im Out. Trust me, I get it! Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Thanks Hornet, good to hear from you. I do the same in October. Back water along the Jersey Shore. Be safe Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. 8/31 - 9/2. After following all the humbling reports of capsized vessels, and triple checking safety equipment and gear, we managed to sneak a peek into the 9ml and sandy. Managed to go 3 for 10. Not much, but what a ride. Hats off to all you guys that share such a wealth of information. Not just fishing [emoji53] [emoji4] I'm no stranger to the O, head on a swivel at all times! Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Thanks fat trout Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Great job by the rescue boats. My question is how do these boats go down so fast, don't they half to maintain level float. Don't mean to sound ignorant. I was out there that evening with a 16 when the lake layed down for a few hrs. Had no idea what had happened till I heard at the launch. Going home early if it's it's bad tomorrow morning. 23. X2 fisherdude, just another weekend warrior in a small craft myself. That lake has a nasty way of sneaking up on you. We'll salute the fallen from Mexico this weekend. Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Run the same gauntlet every labor day weekend for 8 yrs in a 16' V with a 25 tiller. Spent alot of time watching the big boys from the mouth of the salmon waiting for a brake. Extra bilge, wear your life jackets, and if the lady shows her ugly side, get the freek out. Get r done . Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Good stuff! Took 4 of mine to Cranberry Lake for Vaca 2 weeks ago. First pike for 2 , and a bucket of brim and happy faces for all. Pop pop killed it.[emoji6] Sent from my SM-G900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
