  1. Nice report hit that same area week or so ago prospecting and did ok as well
  2. There was a definite decrease in them this weekend last over previous, and usually it is when the water cools but other times they seem to lessen as water is overly warm as well... temps on surface were really climbing last weekend...they dont seem to show up much before surface temps hit 70... conclusion... who knows they are where you find them...
  3. Omg I’m in tears that is an awesome post ... the weeds screwed me pretty hard on Sunday... always run wire on dipsy with twili tip on rod fleas will attach but not in abundance and the combo of wire and twili tip chews right through them... get yourself some releases chamberlains are my favorite you can get sets for bottom and stackers to run part way up to fish two rods per rigger.... no solution for weeds other than to avoid them ... and clear lines frequently you boated fish good job... plant often has weeds near it this time of year ...best after a good overnight blow to clear it out....

  7. Hmmm not sure how to take that one, i haven’t been on cayuga long enough to have out done others here yet...but if i were you id get myself some flies in white green and chartreuse combinations Atomik are my go to rigs, but recently a friend fighting cancer has been tying some winners custom for me while he is bored at home on chemo, and some spin and glows on 8 inch spin doctors and focus on middle half of the lake between 60-90 foot deep fishing has been superb,,, if you get out and are getting skunked pm me exactly what you are doing and where ....I have coast guard aux maneuvers Friday am so ill be on water but unavailable after 9 until noonish. If you only have a little time and need to stay near Cornell troll west side north of ithaca yacht harbor 200 feet of water at depth previously stated...not the hottest spot but produced some for me this weekend on a prospect run Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  9. Yeah there is a difference, im a bit of a fanatic because people pay me to fish and I take that very seriously because ive been on charters that sucked and we didnt catch much or any...but in any six hour trip this year the worst Ive done is five nice fish on board, (and they lost more than 5 hookups cause they were slow on rods) the best has been 20 and we lost 10 on that trip as well. I am also running 8 lines three different methods simultaneously. When im marking and not biting I know after 3 or four solid areas go by they arent buying what Im selling so ill change out all the rigs till i get the right presentation, color and speed...i heard someone on the radio today say they had fished the area i was currently in and got nothing, 30 minutes before...i was on my third 10 pounder in the same spot at the time...but I was also on my fourth change out of lure presentations before i figured it out.. it is amazing to me how fun and productive this lake is. Truly blessed to have the opportunity Captain Mark Www.indepthfishingadventures.com

  12. Agreed we catch all day long, change colors presentation or location...some of my best charters have started mid day and had 30 hookups starting at noon or 1 Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  15. Guys be careful dragon boat races from tfalls today restricted patrolled area so please stay clear of the boats participating
  16. I’ll defer to copper on that one he is the jigging talent in the room ... trolling I go for the fish with no bait... less competition... so I use the Lowrance with fish reveal (that I bought from copper aka mike lol cause he didn’t like it more than his old system ) I can detect fish easily sitting on the bottom or suspended in the column... but on your unit use max mode on your sonar and pay attention to the live bar to the right you should clearly see your jig and the live bar should show you fish coming for the lure don’t try to use downscan I don’t think it will help you .. google your unit and jigging to find some videos
  17. Cannon Unitrol manual down riggers with base plates and additional double rod holders so there are three on each rigger for sale... retail cost for rigger is 170 plus 60 for the extra rod holders for a retail total of 230... will let them go for 125.00 a piece, end tackle is in perfect condition wire is in perfect condition just upgraded my platform and don’t need them. Manual clutch driven for deployment..fixed booms.. Traxstech gimbal mount not included but if interested make offer Captain Mark Www.indepthfishingadventures.com
  18. What model do you have?
  19. This little guy deserves some serious credit. I take a lot of people fishing I have grown men complain about reeling in 6-10 pound fish on a dipsy out 250, this little guy not only boated 4 fish on the same dipsy out 250 and didnt lose a one...AND even helped me clear the lines when we were done for the day, mom pitched in for a double as well while grandpa coached ... If I had a trophy to hand out it would have gone to him hands down.... Captain Mark Www.indepthfishingadventures.com
  20. Yeah my charter trip today landed over 20 fish in 5 hours missed or lost 10 or more lake is rocking
  21. Yeah 5 weeks it was down have 4 charters over thu to Sunday your Lowrance is doing well
  22. Copper liner can outfit you with what you need he makes his own and they are good stuff
  23. Follow johns advice he’s a jigging master 1 oz is too light 1 and 3/4 at least If you don’t have a gps stabilized trolling set up and good electronics and knowledge of lake could be challenge ... 80 foot is a good depth to start launch Meyers go north east side north of power plant in that area is generally good I’ve seen John there lately also north on other side of lake near kidders ... fish will be moving deeper as temps rise in water...we have been getting lots of fish 50-90 ft down some were in 40-50s though I suspect that will go away as thermocline develops . Your issue will be holding position if you don’t have a gps stabilized trolling motor as wind on the lake is usually present in am dies off mid morning and picks up again afternoon if all else fails pm me I’ll be on charter that afternoon and I do plan to hit the area there or marine radio boat name is Avalon the fishing has been hot and don’t be afraid to do mid morning when wind typically settles the jigging thing is a real touch game speed and manner of retrieve is nothing like Bass... If you don’t succeed and you want to hop a charter let me know Captain Mark
  24. I have been quiet the last few weeks so I thought I would share some pictures from my recent trips with you all... enjoy... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
