Shimanno Tekota problems

I have a 600lc that is giving me problems.I have the reel spooled with wire and my problem is the line guide and line will not stay in sync.I have let all 1000ft out, rewinded it back on and after letting it out a couple of times the line and the line guide are way off.Any Ideas as to what the problem may be? Thanks in advance.

Check the pawl in the bottom of the level wind guide. If it is worn or broken, it will skip and get out of sync.

Maybe they are just "tired", you can only catch so many thousand Kings over the course of several years and still expect them to operate flawlessly, heck I'm tired and I'm only in my early 20's (:
