NY State record walleye opportunity available

The last two New York State record walleyes came from the Kinzua Allegany River reservoir below Salamanca, NY. They were taken before the spring walleye season closing on March 15. Talking to a Seneca Nation ECO the other day, he checked the last winner angler for his license a couple hours before he reported he caught his winning fish on the Mystic Lake?.

The point is that if you are interested in going for a chance at a 16 pound walleye, then get down there then before the fish spawn out. Seneca Nation fishing licenses are available for use on the Allegany River and Lower Cattaraqugus Creek. These licenses expire January 1. A tremendous amount of fishing opportunity for you with little competition for space. Wallleye, bass, muskys, carp are easily caught in the Allegany and a walleye hatchery is being constructed on the reservation now. The Cattaraugus system is noted for its great Steelhead fishingin the fall and spring.

License costs are $45 for non Seneca adults and $15 for Senior over 65 citizens .
