SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

====================

Took advantage of slow time of year at the shop and went out for some browns and perch with Fred Vojt.

Got on the water just past 10AM...

Scooted under outlet bridge (nice to have a small boat too..) and set out 2 sticks off the starboard board and 2 sticks on Yellowbirds to port headed east. Was just setting out second bird and we were into a very "football brown". Set it back out and tried to set a couple spoons on the riggers... not going to happen for an hour or so. Steady pick and a few

misses kept us busy. Have to say not a fan of the red Yellowbird releases... too finicky to adjust. Spoons were dead but clean. Two big browns and a small one released and kept 4 eaters - 2 for Fred and 2 to freeze and give to my son at college.

12 FOW seemed to be best for us. At about 1 we headed into the bay for some perch. Slow bite but managed

maybe a dozen or so keepers.

All in all it was nice to be on the water at the beginning of March.
