Finally got my boat out this year and took a good friend Tom on its maiden voyage. It was his first time on my boat...The water was like glass and it was foggy...Didn't take long before we had a release on the downrigger at 60 ft. over about 110 fow... Couldn't budge the fish or thing? After 20 minutes or more we saw this behomoth laker...I was so nervous to net it I almost botched it by diving under it too soon...We were lucky because I got another chance and this time I didn't miss....Biggest laker I've ever netted... Reloaded and the same NK 42nd spoon took a decent King...After that there was a steady pick of small kings and cohos under a foggy sky....Things got a bit slower when the sun cleared the airways....Did lose two steelies, one on a leadcore line and another on a cheater leader armed with an NK Firecracker....Great day...Can't wait to get back....Surface temp was 51 degrees....I probably should have thrown a planer board out, but we were satisfied with the action we were having....Here are some pictures...I'm guessing that laker was between 15 and 20 pounds...whadya think?
