Stripping Boat paint

The boat I recently purchased doesnt have the cleanest lines on it as far as the under paint goes. Now i was wondering if stripping just those areas will clean it up good. I plan on repainting the whole underside anyways but would like to keep the line right at the water line not 4 inches above so any suggestions?

I highly recommend a product "Peel Away -Marine Safety Strip"  I used it a few years back to remove the bottom paint on my hull. Product worked great. (didn't hurt gelcoat) My Penn Yan is the same as yours and only took the day to complete. Just follow the instructions, its environmental safe but is not cheap stuff. Hope this helps.
