Garmin 498 gps/finder

I have a chance to get this unit at a good price I want to upgrade to a color Gps I know this has a finder in it but I don't care.it will be a good back up if my main finder fails.But I have heard some good things about Garmin.Can some one en light me on this unit Good or bad and how are the blue charts that they use I have a lowrance now and the Nav chip.Any comment would be great.Thanks

I've seen the Garmin charts and they are very nice. I can't speak for the unit itself though. Just be sure that the charts you get with it cover the waters you'll be fishing.

Thanks Billy I have always had Lowrance but I don't like the long waits to talk to any one plus I ahve heard good things about Garmin.Buy the way Good luck with your boats new home.
