Check out Coastwatch and the MODIS images of the western basin of Lake Erie for 3/11 and 3/13 and you will see ice cover is diminishing quickly.

A couple weeks of continued longer photo period as well as warming temps and we should be ice free making way for the warming Erie waters to flow into the Niagara plume.
