1000 Islands question

Recommended Posts

Not sure where to post this, so I figured I would try and start here,

I am thinking about renting a place (cottage) in the 1000 Islands area on the river and was wondering if anyone had any info on them.  I look them up on the web and most are through realtors and are pricerd like they are.  Looking for info on places that can sleep 5-8 and on the water.  Does not have to be the greatest place, just clean and family friendly.

Thanks,

Mike

Duck Cove Cottages

I have only ever stayed at Shangri la (3 years as a seasonal resident) and schermerhorn landing as a kid.  Both are nice and can accommodate around 6 people.  I fish the Shangri la area all summer so if you need info on the area or would like to go out PM me and we can discuss the details.

I have rented a lot of places on the river. One of the best was west winds in clayton. You will need 2 cottages for that many people there. Another good spot is the state owned cottages on wellesy island. You're not on the water there and have to drive a half mile to the marina. Last time i stayed there it was $750/week plus $10/day for the dock. Great pike fishing from the boat launch to eel bay.
