Pro/Am Rod limit question.

As it stands most if not all Pro/Am tourneys limit the amount of rods 8/6 for Pro/Am.

This leads me to think that I can run as many cheaters/sliders as I desire long as I have no more than 6 rods out, is that correct?

Yes as long as you do not violate the NYS hook point total.
