Lowrance Elite-7 HDI

Hello I purchased the Lowrance unit but have not installed yet I fish mostly shallow water 50 ft and less ,the transducer that came with it is the 50/200 ,I did not ask that's what I was given when I bought it . Any thoughts from someone who has this unit as to if I should get a 83/200 transducer instead , also the 50/200 is a large transducer . Thanks for any input

yes you need the 83/200 for inland lake or get  45/200

the 50/200 will work fine on shallow water, it is actually a much more expensive transducer than the 83/200. Save your money, and use the 200hz setting individually or combined with the down imaging screens at 400 and 800hz, you actually have 3 sonar options for shallow water with that transducer
