Cayuga Cayuga ...Deans cove...Tues....11/14

Recommended Posts

DEANS COVE........ No wind on Tues.! Yay!   I try to fish according to the wind. West shore....NNW wind.....go fishing.....Total....11 for 13 Lakers. Most seemed to be small, but a couple of fish were around 8 lbs. ALL fish were below 79-80 ft. Some were 100 ft. down. Saw baitfish on the bottom in 160 ft. of water. Is this normal? Some fish out in 150-160 ft. of water. My graph showed most fish on the BOTTOM. Active fish 100 ft. and above. Not a bad day to be out. ONE other boat out.....did exactly like me. YAY!

Nice work.  I snuck out for a quick fix, just under 2 hrs late morning today, fished shallow again... 4 lakers and 2 browns.  Nothing huge.  A bit windy but the sun was out.

Haven't tried the top 15 feet yet.  The last couple of times I've been fishing mostly 20-35 down in 25-70 fow.  Seems like it might be time to try though!  Surface temp was 50 today.

    • Cayuga south end 9/13

Got out from 7am to 11:15am before the wind and waves came up. Went 16 for 17 lakers and salmon. Most lakers were the 7-8lb range, all the salmon were sub legal. Speed at the ball was 2.2-3.0. 70-250FOW. 10 color leadcore did the work, but dipseys at 130 and riggers at 45 and 60 both took fish as well. Bright scorpion size spoons and standard DW’s in black/silver were the tickets. Light fleas, top water was 68, below 60’ down was mid 40’s. Every fish we got was super fat, healthy and were ready

    • Emily back on Cayuga

Emily's name sake, Emily III (Crestliner Eagle 245), looks like she will be on Cayuga on Sunday ,9-15. Ill winds don't favor an outing on her primary haunts of Erie and Ontario and she needs to head to the haymow for winter after this weekend so... Keep the reports coming, it's been a long while since I've roamed Cayuga's waters without snow in the air.
