Have You Ever Used These Penn Releases?

Just wondering how to attach them to your line. I bought some Penn riggers a few years ago and they included a pair of 6# weights and a pair of 10# weights. All four weights had these unusual Penn line release body assemblies on the tail fin of the rigger weights.

 

All of them have the tabs that attach to your fishing line, but I'm wondering how the tabs are supposed to attach to the line. I can't find any information about these Penn Releases anywhere on the internet.

 

I'm sure the tension screws are still set to where the previous owner had them when he used them last. I took the releases off the 10# weights because I couldn't figure out how to use them.
