board rods

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what you guys prefer for the lengths of your

planer board rods. Have a chance to make a switch, and just

trying to decide if I should go with a 1 piece 7 footer...?

Thanks.

John.. I stick with all 7 footers. I know some guys who like different lenghts for inside and outside boards, but that never made sense to me. They're going to end up getting swapped around anyways! Mine are all two piece since I really don't think sensativity is an issue here. By the way.. do you know the dates for the Amera-Can out there this year? Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Sluggo:

Ameracan dates are the same weekend as last year....July 14/15.

Con club is Aug 3-5....limited to 100 boats and they anticipate a full

field.

The 1 piece 7' feels pretty good, and I'm leaning towards it. Have

8' that I run leadcore on off the boards and its about the same action.

Just not sure about the shorter rod......

john i have (4) 7'6" daiwas heartlands and (4) 7' berkley lightning rods. I like both ...lots of help eh! daiwas are nice for in-line boards and walleye as the tip is soft and has some give. The 7' are real nice on the mast for browns, coho, steel and aggressive eyes as the graphite and tip are stiffer and really send the hook home....so my advice go with both...lol
