  3. Paypal entries are now done. Looks like 42 teams as of 5 p.m., rumors of a few more paying cash to be added. [ Post made via Android ]
  4. Mosquito issues are fine, we imported 105,000 spiders and they seem to be doing there job.
  5. To everyone in the Shootout, it seems we do not have cell phone numbers for a lot of you. Please PM me your cell phone numbers ASAP if you have not provided them to us yet. In the event of a weather issue we want to be able to contact everyone entered. We will make an announcement on Channel 72 at 6 a.m. in the event of a weather issue. We will only announce a postponement or delay. There will be no other announcements.
  6. Ray, Scott will call or PM you soon. Glad you changed your mind. Anyone else still thinking about signing up, you have until 5 p.m tomorrow to do it via PayPal. I can't take anymore entries after that through PayPal. Scott and I will be at Sandy most of the day Friday getting stuff ready. You are more than welcome to try and track us down Friday and pay cash, no guarantees though, we will be very busy sabotaging a few boats, Trout n About, Rebel, Yankee, Legacy, come to mind. My cell is 585-314-6189, Scott's is 585-370-8068. Looks like we will have close to 40 teams which will make an even bigger payout, plus we have a lot more sponsor gift money to give away as prizes this year. Don't forget the $ 500.00 cash big fish prize. Looking forward to seeing everyone there, although I don't seem to get much time to talk to most of you.
  7. Sorry to hear that Ray, Jerry won't have anyone to run Buffy through Hamlin with on Friday night now You know that atmosphere at the Shootout is a lot less intense than the ProAm, don't think you have any worries about enemies.
  8. Ray don't worry the Sandy Shootout results will be posted by 7 p.m. Saturday night, they might not be perfect though, we are only going to randomly pay the winners based on unofficial results.
  9. For everyone who will be signing up over the next 2 weeks. You must contact Scott B, Legacy or Mike Engle to let them know you have paid, as I will be out of town. I will be getting my prefishing for the Shootout in by throwing size 14 dry flies at rising trout in Utah until the 22nd. If my team ends up in last I will have more than one excuse this year at least. PayPal sign up will be working as usual for those of you who want to pay via credit card, please enter a boat name and cell phone number if signing up via pay pal, or feel free to track down one of the guys to pay with cash. Scott will be taking care of the sign up list from here on out, if something is wrong feel free to yell and scream at him.

  11. Ontario has been polluted for many, many years. High levels of heavy metals, PCBs, pesticides, etc. There are suggested limitation as to how much fish you should eat from the lake/tribs. http://www.health.ny.gov/environmental/ ... estern.htm
  12. Steve you forgot to mention that is was caught on a "Fox Fly". Scott's mad they didn't promote his mutildollar, intercounty fly business . Glad we could get out and bounce around this morning. To bad the wife and kids come back tomorrow, this fishing everyday thing could become a habit.
  13. Jake, Yes there will be a one day, one big fish, winner take all derby on Sunday (weather permitting). More details on the one day derby will be coming soon. We are trying to give everyone a weekend full of fun and laughs, party Friday night at Nutz Corners, Shootout Saturday and a big fish derby Sunday. Glad you convinced the wife to let you fish.

  15. NBK and Green Glow Herring in Savant size, or Green Glow Trout and Bloody Ghost Green Glow in Jake 45. The Jake 45 are smaller but work on both trout and salmon. Paint is great. I personally think Savant makes the best spoons on the market right now. Nice meeting you this weekend, congrats on the win again.

  17. Lava, I could tell you the whole truth of being a co-owner of a boat but my partner reads this forum so I have to watch what I say. We decided to buy a boat together 8 years ago after fishing off my old boat for about 10 years. The nice thing is about it is it allowed us together to by a little bigger and nicer boat than either of us could afford at the time. Splitting the costs of everything (dockage, fuel, equipment, etc.) is nice to. If you and your buddy are dedicated to fish together all the time I would say do it. Make sure you discuss beforehand monthly payments, insurance, where you want to dock if you are docking, winter storage, etc. I would recommend putting everything is writing in case there's issue down the road or if you ever decide to sell it. Even your best fishing buddy will piss you off from time to time, trust me. The most important advice I would recommend, talk to your wife or significant other about the plan, make sure she is on board, but under no circumstance let her influence what boat you buy. The boat should be what you and your buddy want not your wife. Now watch Gator get on here and tell you what a horror story its been owning a boat with me.
  18. I will be in it one way or the other. Agree that its a nice little derby for the rec guys who don't want to spend a ton of cash to enter the Pro/Am division. I really like the fact that we can fish out of Sandy and still be in it. No need to spend money on a dock at the Oak for the weekend. Finished 2nd last year and took home about $ 700 in cash and prizes, not bad for a little over a hundred entry fee. Hope more guys from Sandy realize they can get in and fish from home this year.
  19. Give you $ 100 bucks, only if you take the rainbow stickers off the back window though.
  20. I couldn't agree more, that why I ordered mine last week. Can't wait until it gets here. They are pricey but when you only buy a new bow every 5 to 10 years makes it a little less painful. Anyone in the market for a new bow, has to shoot one of these to feel and hear the difference. Of course as Indian noted if you shoot it you will want to buy it.
  21. Carp, Not sure what the trooper told your nephew, but I own a contracting business. Three years ago I got a notice from DOT that all my vehicles over 10,000 or having a combined weight over 10,000 pounds had to be registered. I had to register my business with DOT, pay some fees and also register every vehicle that meet the requirements and place numbers on them. All my employees are now required to pass a DOT physical every year and are issued a card stating such. Everyone is also required to keep log books and vehicle inspections, exactly like the big rig Skipper describe in his post. I don't think a lot of smaller business know about these laws yet. But they are in effect. If your really interested I could email you copies of regulations. I have been run through the ringer over this whole DOT B.S. Sent 2 days in a class just going through how to document all my employees physicals, log books, paperwork etc. Only cost me a few grand, again government making it so nice for small business. The bonus is having to stop at every DOT checkpoint if your combine weight is over 10,000 when you see one. Not trying to tell anyone they are wrong, but I have way to much experience with this. I have no idea how this would effect a charter captain hauling their boat down the road, something that might be worth looking into if you were a captain doing much towing.
