  1. I do not know who she is but this sounds like a sad story that hopefully has a happy ending. http://cortlandstandard.net/story001.html
  2. Started saturday morning with a buddy of mine. A nice westerly wind. It was my first time with my new planer mast (never used one). Let's just say I might need a lil' practice. We were off the water by 10:30am with a bagel. Sunday, lake was glass for he first few hours in the morning. I broke out the in-line boards that I am much more comfortable with. Took 11 fish by 11am. The wind picked up out of the east and we never had another hit. Pulled off the water about 2pm. Black and Silver j-9's were the best. I didnt get a fish on my smithwicks. No really big fish but a good time none the less. Surface temp was 37-41 degrees. About half the brownies had lamprey attached to them. :x The lamprey were about 5 inchers. I did mark a lil bit of bait but nothing to extreme. I did some searching for some warmer waters but that didnt turn anything significant up. I'll be up mid week again.
  3. Ok be honest guys. Am I the only one who was expecting a story about a floating condom?
  4. The itch is geting to me. I'll be out of Oswego on saturday and sunday. Who else is headed out and where ya goin'?
  5. Hey Yankee, you know all those winter days when you are wishing you were on the water? Thats a perfect winter river fishing machine. Walleye, browns and steelies all through those cold months.
  6. I have a couple of the TDR downrigger rods and they seem to be a good rod.
  7. No Bob I haven't been out yet. I spent last week prepping the boat. With these warmer temps on the way I will probably start early this week. You? I'll paint a sheet that reads " Lakeontariounited.com" Then you can take a picture from the web camera and post it.
  8. It is an interesting article. Also in the new Walleye Insider magazine, there is an article on trolling the east end of Ontario for the big eyes!
  9. It is the ONLY mono that I will fish with period. I use it for filling the linecounters. I use it for all my jiggin rods when Im not using braid. It has nothing to do with the price at all. I wouldnt put a stren or trilene line on my reels if you gave it to me. This stuff is great.
  10. Whats the link to that camera? I only have this one. http://lakevision.com/camera_9.htm
  11. I like to fish the deep water once the summer starts. I'll target the 30-40ft waters. If I notice fish on my sonar that are suspended in the 18-30 range then my spread, (if there are 2 of us on the boat) I'll run the 600 series reef runners off of inline offshore boards. This will target the suspended fish. I take more fish like this than any other presentation. With my other 2 rods I'll usually target the fish near bottom with bouncers and spinners.. 3oz's of lead then 6ft worth of spinner with floats. I'f the suspended fish are more active then I will go away from the bottom rigs. I'll do one of a couple things. I'll either put a couple more stickbaits off 2 more boards or I'll drop some leadcore down with a 500 series rr on it. If the bottom is producing well then I will put my bottom bouncing rigs on the boards and send them out to the side. sometimes I'll use the bottom bouncers to get my shallow running cranks down to the bottom fish. OK, Im done rambling on Landshark
  12. Great pics, I wish his friends could have done better against the Giants this year
  13. I think it ought to be if it isnt. It should be like this. If you currently have a boat registered, you should be grandfathered into not being obligated to take it. If you buy another boat, your registration from your prior boat should be in the DMV computer. This will slowly transition it to everyone who operates a boat will have taken this class. What do you think about this?
  14. I love watching this stuff. It seems that the spindoctor is more erratic. Everytime I see this video, I just pcture the other guy jumping up to grab the rod.
  15. I didnt realize that another place had them. I could have drove up to Fat Nancys and bought them instead of through Cabelas. Oh well. I just like keeping the money local as much as I can. I wish i had posted before I place my order Ed
  16. For those of you that fish for marble eyes, reef runner now makes a 7" bait for those big girls on Ontario. I just figured I share but the only place I have seen hem for sale anywhere is on Cabelas. They are backordered by the way. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... &noImage=0
  17. Great report Mike, were there many boats out there?
