  1. I knew this comment was coming! You are too predictable Rick.
  2. I'm in!
  3. This drama can be seen at East Fork Marina every week this season. Our boat slips are right next to each other.
  4. I want to see the Lake promoted not myself Rick........ See what you started Scott!!!
  5. Are you kidding me Weaves? This fishery is small compared to what it was in the 80's. It could use more attention. If the fishermen do not fish the lake, the fishery will not be here.
  6. I totally agree. IMO, the Salmon Showdown is a great show but I would love to see more promotion of Lake Ontario tournaments too.
  7. And hauling bass out of weeds with a heavy rod and 80lb braid is exciting? Ever watch a walleye fishing show? The Great Lakes market is tiny because it lacks exposure. I have bumped into people that live right near the lake and they had no idea it had trout and salmon in it!
  8. It looks like they would have a better show if they came to Lake Ontario. The first show only showed a couple fish being caught and small ones at that!
  9. After watching a couple episodes, I can't believe that this has not been done more on Lake Ontario. I know they did the Wilson Harbor Invitational a couple years ago. Why not the Pro Am, Oak Orchard open, Atommik Invitational, or other tournaments on the lake?
  10. Some icefishermen are scum. Have you ever seen how much trash some leave on the ice? Not all are but there are a few that ruin it for everyone else.
  11. They only "eat" black sponge in the tribs!
  12. Stay away from trackers. Look down in the "this old boat section" and read the story there about a tracker. It is a common issue with them.
  13. They could just use that blow up doll that was seen on their boat a couple years back.
  14. I'm sending you a PM Dave.
  15. That's really cool.
  16. Captain Jason Franz needs our prayers. Jason is currently in ICU at Park Ridge Hospital in a medically induced coma.
  17. I had a 27lb king almost spool me a couple seasons ago. It was hooked in the dorsal fin. Before I could get the boat turned, I was down to 100' of backing! I have had a couple hooked in the top of the head that were hard to slow down too. I would rather have a little bit of insurance than get spooled.
  18. IMO, 150 yds of backing is only a good idea if you run the rod down the chute. If you run it off a board, you are asking to get spooled. I have had a couple kings hooked funny and almost get spooled with 300 yds of backing off the boards.
  19. It's easier to respool and scrap the tangled!
  20. The thicker the copper, the less user friendly it is. I have 45lb copper on all 8 of my copper rigs.
