  2. Snucked this evening for quick trip and landed in the middle of a King fest. The screen was nothing short of amazing in 210-255 fow. Plenty of hooks and bait. A couple of spoon bites but Spin Doctors/ flies and DW paddles/ meat took the most shots. 300' Blood Run coppers, wire divers (160-280'), and riggers (60, 70, 90,100) all had their opportunities. We were rewarded with 21 bites in about 4 hours with only about a 70% landing percentage. A couple of Steelhead and a fat Laker mixed in with the Kings. Biggest was low 20s but the majority were in that low to mid teens King class.

  5. Okuma Clarion 553Ls paired with an Okuma classic pro GLT copper rod is a great copper setup. Problem is though squeezing 500' of 45# copper on it will only leave you room for less then 100' of 50# braid backing. An Okuma Solterra 50L would be the next choice in the Okuma line up.

  7. I wouldnt suggest splicing your wire. Pick up a new 1000' spool and start fresh. As for your Okuma Clarion 553... it will hold 500' of 50# braid backing

  9. I leader all of my spoon rods with 12' of 20# Blood Run flouro. I use a size #3 spro swivel for my connections and tie them with a palomar knot.

  12. I would have to say that the Okuma Classic Pro GLT- copper/leadcore trolling rod (model # CP-CL-862M) is probably the best copper rod out there.
  13. No problem. On an Okuma Convector 55 or Catalina 553 you can fit 450' of Blood run 45# copper w/ 250' of 50# Blood Run Braid.
  14. 8" DW spin doctors are a great addition to your arsenal!
