  2. You wouldn't believe the bite this morning! Started the hunt where we left off yesterday only to find clean water. We fished 12-20 fow from the creek east all the way to cowsucker and never moved a rod. When in doubt, go out. We spent some time switching over from our shallow water program to a mid water program. Took us a bit but we found the mother load hanging in the Sandy Creek plume directly offshore. 50-65 fow from the creek to the pump house and our patience was rewarded with a 50+ bite day. One steelhead, a half dozen giant lake trout, and topped with an absolute amazing spring King bite. Short Blood Run coppers and Chinook divers were an unstoppable combo today!
  3. Verrrrry slow start this morning but ended with a great bite! Good class of kings, a few giant lake trout, a mix class of browns and even a domestic rainbow. East of the creek in 15-30 Fow.

  6. No problem. Ramp goes about as far as end of the docks.
  7. We had three on Sunday. I have been told it is a product of the hatchery.
  8. An absolute blood bath this morning. Unspeakable numbers.... Lake Ontario fed us an unreal King bite, a monster class of Brown Trout, and even a couple of Coho to make things interesting. 15-18 fow with a mix of spoons and sticks. 9. Best decision i ever made with my old boat.... Fyi, They make a "conversion kit" for it!
  10. I only have 3 riggers on the boat. I use 2 out 3 when inside of 25'. Outside of that all three get used. I always have a minimum of 2 divers in the water. Like I said before, I am running 7-11 rods most of the time and I like diversity.
  11. What's the question? We always run divers and riggers Sent from my XT1585 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I use small mini divers and never really liked them. Slide Diver never really sold me either. I had some Chinooks given to me and started playing with them. Two seasons in and I love them for skinny water (50' or less). Diversity in the spread is always something I go for. Skinny water fishing means flatlines off big boards, divers, and riggers (7-11 rod spreads). As we slide out deeper those flatlines change to leadcores and coppers and our divers get bigger and bigger.
  13. On Sunday April 28th we will be releasing our fish and having the end of the season work party. We will first meet at East Fork Marina @1pm and discuss our plan of attack. We will be carpooling to the yacht club and releasing the fish. Once the fish are released, we will then split up to complete the work needed to get everything cleaned up and put away for the year. We need as many volunteers year's as possible to make this happen. See you all on Sunday!
  14. We spent the majority of the day in 17-25 fow in "green water". Probably our hottest setup on sunday was our diver setups. 25' out on a 3 setting with a 12' leader pulling a DW SS lemon ice spoon.
  15. Ha! Now theres a good picture of Russ!
  16. Yes the black things in my lure picture are divers, Chinook divers. I really like over all other diver presentations this time of year. They are a size 1. Sent from my XT1585 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Agreed. You need backing behind your wire on okuma 30 series reels in order to fill the spool to capacity. The four I just did I used 400' of 25# mono. Sent from my XT1585 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Ice boom removal set to start Monday By Aaron Besecker|Published April 21, 2019|Updated April 21, 2019 SHARE TWEET Crews are planning to start removal of the Lake Erie ice boom on Monday, the International Joint Commission said late last week. Based on the amount of ice remaining on the eastern end of Lake Erie and the weather forecast, the New York Power Authority was preparing for the work, the IJC said in a news release. The work by the Power Authority to pull out the 8,800-foot ice boom would start if the weather allows for safe working conditions. The boom gets installed every December between Buffalo Harbor and Fort Erie to minimize ice floes that contribute to shoreline erosion in the Niagara River and may threaten to damage downstream hydropower operations. Removal begins when ice cover is estimated to be below 250 square miles. Last year, crews started removing the boom April 10, the IJC said. The earliest start date ever for removal was Feb. 28, 2012; the latest was May 3, 1971, according to the commission.
  19. It seems now whenever I respool a downrigger I dont have help. What I do now is unspool the entire spool of new downrigger cable. I try to lay it out inn as straight of a line as I possibly can. Down the dock, across the lawn, whatever. I attach my cable to the down rigger spool and with one hand I keep tension on the cable along with lay it evenly across the spool and the other hand I power the cable on. No twist, no bs. Simple and it is a one man job.
  20. I have two braid diver setups on the boat and they are setup exactly the same as my wire diver setups. I am an Okuma guy and all of my current setups are on 10' Okuma White Diamond diver rods. I guess to answer your question use what you are comfortable with and what you are currently using is fine.
