I believe last time I bought it from fish USA Sent from my XT1585 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

There's the issue. Dacron sucks. Make the switch to braid and you will never look back. I'm using 200# power pro. It doesn't stretch, it doesn't sag, it doesn't absorb water, and releases slide with ease. Sent from my XT1585 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

What are you using for your tow line?

7 strand for sure. I prefer Blood Run. On a 30 series Okuma you will need 300' of 25# test backing plus 1000' of wire to completely fill the spool.

30# braid is fine for double duty. The issue with braid is once the fleas are bad you will wish you had ss wire.

Legacy 2019 Shakedown
Legacy posted a topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Feels great to be in the water again! Yesterday we took quick shakedown and there is a couple of things the gremlins got over the winter. No big surprises and nothing major but still a pain in the butt. Fishing wasnt too bad and there were plenty of Browns that wanted to play while we were playing with the boat. East wind had broken it up a bit but pockets of good water from Cowsucker Creek to Area 1. Highlight of the day was losing a new rod/reel. I have never lost a rod over the boat in all of my time fishing until yesterday! . -

Lead core and copper
Legacy replied to Matt ching's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Okuma White Diamond copper/ leadcore rod has become my favorite (model # WD-CL-862M) https://www.fishusa.com/product/Okuma-White-Diamond-Trolling-Rods?gclid=Cj0KCQjwnKHlBRDLARIsAMtMHDGjApUKwR4VbcIFpxIExL-D0sPvWQpqhzkTPFbUBy_ipDg-h-tW2pMaAtF9EALw_wcB -
Just add a couple of split shot to them. 6-8' from the spoon.

This will be the first year I have dedicated planer board setups for early season browns and their only purpose will be just that. Its certainly a luxury but not necessary. For years I have switch out rods to light action for the early bite and/ or leadered other setups.
