  1. excellent georged, glad you are still getting out there
  2. I read this article recently, it is from Oct 2008 but nothing has changed since then, This is just an excerpt but I linked the article: Dale M. Volker spends nearly $1 million a year to run his State Senate office, while some of his colleagues in the local delegation get by on half as much money. In the Assembly, Robin L. Schimminger spends nearly three times more money to run his shop than some of his colleagues. Welcome to the New York State Legislature, which spends more than $200 million a year and employs more than 3,500 to serve the wants and needs of 212 members of the Senate and Assembly. Put another way, the Legislature employs as many people as the City of Buffalo and the Town of Amherst combined. Cops, firefighters, trash collectors -- the whole works. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... =us&client I live in Canandaigua and for the last 7 years I have lived here, each year city, county and school taxes have risen. The school board of education will be discussing tonight the referendum necessary to cover the $10,000,000 price tag for upgrading athletic fields and track as well as the kicker: $3.2 million for artificial turf at Exhibition Field.
  3. damn I am more jealous now (except for 10 mph at WOT) you are fine writer sir, and obviously your fishing skills are honed and TARA is keeping you happy, good luck with your charter venture next year and keep the reports coming for us.
  4. sweet fish, I like the color pattern on that spoon, you should try to get your buddy to take a picture of your vessel underway or trolling, I remember seeing a post in the summer of your boat at the dock, very cool looking boat, I would like to see her rigged and "working", she has a diesel engine, closed cooling system?
  5. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19344 http://www.imhooked.com/cgi-bin/forumsy ... 69373825/4 the b/w retails for 979.00, 500.00 would be a deal, not sure what color would do for you down 60-80 down
  6. that flasher looks bigger in the pic, thank you though I love echips
  7. nice color mix of flashers and spinnies that all produced for you, I like that 11" paddle, whistling dyck, bubble butt, awesome names by the big weenie brand
  8. good job paul sorry you lost the NBK spinny
  9. tcon and chuck 527 joined me for the final trip of the year. Tom brought his wire rods and Paul brought some spin dr's and flies that have been working for him. We ran wires out 150', 165' and 210', 300' copper down the chute and riggers at 57 and 67 with pink and orange spoons. We did manage a small brown on a pink silver streak, tossed him back, brought a few lakers in with the NBK and green fly on the 150' wire, no fish on copper. I kept one laker that wouldn't swim away and it was very tasty fried in homemade tempura batter. Tom and Paul helped me get the boat on trailer and I am very grateful for their help. I dropped her off at Rick's Marine on Rte. 64 for winterization, he worked on my boat this summer and does excellent work if you are down this way and looking or need a great mechanic. Then I took her up into the Naples hills for the long cold winter to rest at Six Valleys Storage, Mark runs the storage and his prices can't be beat.
  10. get a bigger reel, you will be happier, Daiwa 47 lc, Accudepth etc.
  11. North end launch will be open as long as the Sucker Brook is flowing out to the lake, as far as getting out on the Can. in wind I prefer the south end, you can get out to the drop off much quicker and you can tuck in to the shoreline on either side for some windbreak.
  12. I am not sure what your are picking up on your sonar on the east side but my down speed and temp on the west side near those points can really get cranking with the down current around there. I have been in 70 FOW near Long Point and see the cables and wire lines go out to the deep side of the boat in the current. The east side from the white rock to whiskey point seems to develop a scum line.
  13. The points on the west you were trolling by are Long Point to the south and the next point north is Cook's Point, I call it Hawks Point because the Hawks place is the white one on the point then north into the cove 2 or 3 house is Golisano's house.
  14. 33 Canuck and I started early Sunday morning, fished the south end, westside from the drop off up to Cook's Point, marks from 60'-90', worked through the colors on the wire dipsies with flasher/flies and riggers with spoons. Crossed over to the eastside working from Vine Valley to Whiskey Point. Unable to get anything going we crossed back over to the westside trolling north, pulled up a rigger rod and set out the 300' copper with a mtn dew spin dr and hammer fly. The copper took a shot after 1 minute, and fish on. Kurt worked the rod as we trolled north, I was trying to rerig a wire with the same combo and drive at the same time. The north wind was blowing and gave us trouble, the fish was definitely a good one, and some how between the waves and and the wind the line did something strange real quick and then Kurt was reeling again. Finally as the last 100' of copper was spooling the spin dr surfaced and no fish. Looking at the spin dr it looked as if the fish swam around the front and created a triangle of the fly leader, the leader was rotated around itself 10 times and the fly was broke off. I still can't believe it made such an escape by spinning the spinner and tangling the fly leader around itself. The temp down 70' was 55 in some places and 62 in other spots, where the temp was 55 we marked lots of fish but just couldn't get those bites. We were back at the dock by 11:00 am.
  15. it was mine he went swimming with, a rigger rod was the donation
  16. Excellent catch sir, glad you are mounting that fish, and an atta boy to Ray K. with some very choice words (mostly correct spelling to boot) to consider.
  17. Thank you for your info, there are so few boats out there on the Can. your secret is safe with me.
  18. How big is that Kokanee Killer? 2 1/2 "? Are you running it on a downrigger?
  19. Hey Brett, it was cool to see some guys from the local forums on the water, we did mark lots of suspended fish at 35'-45' over 65-85 FOW.
  20. I am sure Kurt doesn't want this brought up again, but we did lose one rod and reel set up. However he did manage to hang on to the more expensive set up which is the wire rod and reel. I did get some pics from Saturday which show the crew with the hot flashers.
  21. I knew the weather was going to be nice so I got out on my boat with a friend, Rick, who used to mate for a charter guy on Canandaigua Lake years ago. We fished from 10:00-4:00 working the west side from Long Point to Cook's Point, worked the eastside from Vine Valley to White Rock, and down the middle to Seneca Point. We had good marks from 40'-70' down in many areas but only managed one fish south of Seneca Point on a wire diver out 264' with the Pro Troll 8" echip flasher in white with chrome/ glow and mirage fly. It was a beautiful day to be on the water despite the low catch ratio.
  22. Sunday we got out with our friend Neal who invited us to pull copper on his boat. We left the Vine Valley dock and shot out around the shallow zone setting up trolling south. We worked the east side in 65-80 fow. Basic set up was a stout roller rod with a Penn 49 with .22 gauge single strand copper wire. Waiting for our tow boat We marked a lot of suspended fish in the zone but only few bottom huggers which is where the spoons are. We shot over to the west side, working the same depths, again saw alot of suspended fish and some near bottom, we did manage to hook a fish but Bonnie couldn't keep it buttoned. We had an unfortunate motor problem which necessitated a call to Neal's buddy to come tow us in. Neal's buddy Ted came to the rescue and he wanted us to catch fish pulling copper so he took us back out to the west side. We got set up again bouncing the bottom and Bonnie hooked up again but could not keep the fish hooked when the fish got up on the surface. Ted had a unique homemade copper pulling set up which we did run but we just couldn't get the fish to cooperate.
